Liked: The property is a Dar exactly at the entrance of of the Medina which is great because it allows you to be completely submerged in the local life. The other side of the medal is that to reach the location you leave the car in a parking lot about 2000m walk away and a guide leads you there helping you with the languages (this service is not included in the way back, but the cost is about 20 DHM). Rooms and bathrooms are clean, tidy and correspond to the pictures. The best qualities of the place are the terrace, where meals are served and that look directly over one of the squares, the food (both breakfast was and dinner were delicious and very abundant) and the fact that the place is small, so if you are 7-8 people you have it all for yourself.

A gem at the heart of the Medina

Liked: We had a fantastic 3-night stay at Dar Essoaoude! Fatima and Amira were so kind, welcoming and attentive. Amira met us from the transfer and helped us find our way to Dar Essoaoude! The Dar is beautiful, tucked away but in the heart of the Medina - everything is accessible by foot. Fatima took the time to greet us, provide advice and recommendations, and welcomed us so warmly, even with our late arrival. The room was spacious and pretty, the bed was comfortable, and everything was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was generous and we loved the msmen! When we came in to escape from the rain Fatima kindly prepared a mint tea for us. It was really the best welcome to Fes we could have hoped for and we would highly recommend for short or long stays. Thank you!

Liked: Very nice old style riad, lovely family, extreme big breakfast, nice view and very central.

Disliked: It's very hard to get to the place. The last street is extreme small. Lots of cats that leave their shit on the small street. You need a light to walk safe. And do. T be claustrofobic. Then saidly Fes has lots of false guides try to scam you off. Watch out!

A quiet spot inside the Medina to soak up the atmosphere

Liked: The owner and her young lady helper were friendly and very helpful. They made an effort for breakfast. The verandah upstairs for breakfast was very nice. It was very quiet at night, amazing being inside the Medina.

Disliked: The bedroom was downstairs and bathroom upstairs. The bed was on the small side. The path to the entrance had a very narrow area, so I had to turn my bag side on to get it through. The Medina closes off different areas at 6pm, so you can't follow google maps to find your way, and it's an absolute maze for the uninitiated.
