Exceptional
The very friendly staff compensated the bad sewage smell
Liked: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Riad eas nice, with a beautiful salon. The breakfast was good. The room was large.
Disliked: The smell in the room - Strong smell of sewage in the room – I don’t know if it was present in all the rooms, but in the one we stayed in, on the ground floor (the first one on the left), it was impossible to even breathe. We kept the windows open just to be able to tolerate the smell.
Siad is an amazing host
Liked: Siad is a fantastic host. He always went the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect for us. As usual, the breakfast in this Riad was amazing, and of course they gave you way too much food. The location is great as it is not far at all from the pedestrian only medina. It was also very reasonably priced. When we told our tour guide where are Riad was located and and the price he said "wow, that's a good deal".
Disliked: Nothing. We loved everything.
A jewel in Fes
Liked: It is very close to the old Medina. Walkable to all the main sights of fes especially for first time visitors. Sa-id took good care of us from the moment we arrived to when we check out. He even met us by Batha fountain to help guide us into the dar and assist with our luggage. A very affordable, clean and comfortable dar for a short stay in Fes. The family room accommodated our group of 7 adults well. It has two full baths and an extra shower room.
Disliked: None comes to mind.
Great location and a kind heart!
Liked: Saeed was an amazing host! The breakfast each morning was huge, with a wonderful variety of food. What really made our stay special was Saeed himself. He has such a kind heart and genuinely wants to make sure all his guests are well taken care of. When our scheduled tour was canceled at the last minute, Saeed overheard me talking about it and immediately stepped in to help. He contacted a friend and arranged another tour for us, which turned out to be amazing! He went above and beyond, and we truly appreciated his kindness and willingness to help. The riad was comfortable and quiet, and we had no trouble sleeping. The location was perfect for exploring the medina on foot, while also being convenient for car pickups. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and Saeed made it even more memorable. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

Riad Dar Layali - Great Location & Staff
Liked: Warm and welcoming staff - Mr Said was always available and ready to assist with any queries or help I needed within the residence. The breakfast was plentiful, wifi worked well and the room was large and comfortable. It had a rustic traditional feel to it and it was in a very convenient location close to cafes/restaurants and the medina. They were always responsive when communicating from back home which was great as I was travelling alone. Would recommend as a great value property within a short walk to the sites, shopping and eateries.
Disliked: The alleyway to get up to the entrance is poorly paved so makes difficult when pulling a roller case, however, once I was at the front door the staff were more than obliged to assist bringing the bag/s to the room.
