The highlight of my stay was the great service by Abdellah at Dar Usham

Liked: The service was exceptional. Abdellah did a fantastic job making sure our stay was comfortable and that we had everything we needed. He went above and beyond to provide great service, including taking me to an ATM when I needed cash, and waking up at 3:30 to take us to meet the airport taxi. I am very appreciative of his great service. Thank you Abdellah!

Disliked: The property was overall very good. The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but it was by no means a real issue.

Liked: Great value for our stay in the Medina close to all attractions. Room was clean and comfortable. We had access to kitchen to boil water for tea and store few items in the refrigerator. We came during a major holiday and we were taken care of when the entire city shut down. We really appreciated that from the owners.

Disliked: Pillows could be softer but it seems the norm in Morocco.

Liked: The staff were very welcoming and helped with many questions we had. They did not speak English well, so sometimes communication was on and off. But nothing super unpleasant, everything was smooth.

Disliked: Bathroom smell. It was unbearable sometimes. They were spraying air fresheners, but with a cheap freshener and the smell itself, it got even worse. The Riad is in Medina, which means the rooms do not have windows (some do, but this is rare), so there is no fresh air. The air is stuck, and with the bathroom smell, it is smth hard to ignore. Also, they offer you either tea or coffee at breakfast. The coffee comes in a small cup, like 100 ml and when I asked for another one, the guy looked at me very irritated. Coffee never came. The second day I was having breakfast with other guests (a couple) and we asked for the second cup. The guy again, was super pissed and went to the kitchen. He said that the machine is broken, so the coffee took 20min to arrive and it was basically water with a coffee flavor. Then he said that we need to pay 20dirhams each for this coffee. I am not sure if this is the case in Morocco in general, but I have been in Tangier and Chefchauen and did not have any problems to get another cup of coffee during breakfast. This did not ruin by experience, but was a bit awkward.

Liked: Great spot to explore the old town and markets! Tucked away in the maze of streets gives it a very authentic feeling, but only 5 minute walk away from the main street. Special shout out to the staff especially Abdull who went above and beyond to help us!

Disliked: Book here only if you are comfortable with hills and stairs, and don't need parking though.
