A mixed bag of lot of good and some bad
Liked: Entire host family is indeed exceptional. They are cultured, caring and extremely helpful. Their breakfast menu is elaborate. The "hotel" decor is quite eye pleasing. Hands-on and responsive team of family based staff is quite welcoming. Location is in Medina interior and quickly reachable for most points of interest. They go literally extra mile to escort you in and out of the maze of tight lanes leading to the property. This service is necessay and they attend to it brilliantly. Rooftop Terrace can be fun location for serving mama's home made delicacies albeit a lot of climbing for the guests and much harder for the servers.
Disliked: Lodging space is extremely tight. Perhaps a normal thing for all the Medina accomodations. We had booked a double room apparently accomodating two people. But it was woefully inadequate. After overcoming the shock of tight space we somehow manged. Abdou did offer a free room upgrade next day, but we did not pursue it further and let our bodies manage to squeeze for our 3 night stay. While family tries to help, they are helpless on this tight space issue. They are aware of their handicap and work hard to compensate in other possible ways. I had to turn on my ITIA (internatinal travel instant adjustment) on high to survive here. Homemade dinner was so so.
Liked: Palais Fes Yahia is a lovely little hotel run by the kindest, most welcoming family. Even though I only stayed for a short time, I felt right at home. The warmth and hospitality of the family made my stay truly special. It’s the kind of place where you feel genuinely welcomed, not just like another guest. I’m really glad I chose to stay here and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Fes! A special shout-out to Omran, one of the nicest hosts you could ask for!
Liked: We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Abdul, the owner, was fantastic and kindly guided us around the Medina, showing us the map and helping us with everything we needed. Imran was also very friendly and supportive throughout our stay. The breakfast was good, and the location was excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the main Medina. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable stay with genuine hospitality!
Disliked: There was nothing we disliked about our stay. Everything was excellent, and we were very happy with the service, hospitality, and overall experience.
Liked: It was a perfect stay. Imran was very much helpful and coordinated well from our arrival till the time we checked out.
