Fabulous
Beautiful riad, kind hosts and a great base for Fes
Liked: Said is a great and kind host who helped us with guidance for Fes, Meknes and Volubilis. Organised a day-trip for us for Meknes & Volubilis. Good, fresh breakfast, orange juice and coffee / mint tea as well. We requested breakfast on the terrace one day too and it was very nice and beautiful. Our room was huge and had four beds, where as we just needed and used just one. There was limited toiletries initially, but Said replenished this the same day after we informed her in the morning one day. We also requested dinner at the Riad one evening and strongly recommend others to do this if time permits. Very pretty riad (garden) too. The riad is in a safe part of Fez, about 20 mins away from the Fes Al Bali, by foot. We wanted to be a bit away and it was a good choice for us. There was a pharmacy and a local convenience store with extremely kind and friendly local, from whom we'd buy water etc..
Disliked: The room is a bit dated and could benefit from some TLC. The bathroom definitely needs a facelift, with tapware loose and occasionally there was bad odour too. There was minor leakage under the wash basin during our stay, which was fixed the same day we reported it.

Liked: I very much enjoyed our stay at l'Artiste! Samira, the hostess, is very professional and accommodating, she made us feel welcome and at home, and was very kind to meet our special requests (keeping my aunt's medicine refrigerated, keeping an eye on our luggage, etc.). The cute kitties add up to the homey feeling:)
