  Ideal location

  Liked: Location was in the pedestrian area of the old city, and yet we were able to walk easily to the train station after leaving. Diwa and Ak were very helpful. One night, the balcony door blew closed over the door stop and we couldn't open it again; Ak climbed up next day from the floor below and removed the obstruction.

  Disliked: Shower stall was very slippery. We bought a bath mat to cover it.

  Good size flat

  Liked: Great location right in the center of Alkmaar, easy to find and perfect for exploring, yet still quiet enough to properly relax. The flat was a good size and had everything we needed. The terrace was my favorite part, perfect for a morning coffee in the sun. Our host was lovely, communication was easy and she even guided us around, which made it feel more personal. Having a car park nearby was also very convenient.

  The one bedroom and livingroom apartment is just as pretty and clean as you can see from the photos. Accomodating up to

  Liked: Everything! There was not even one little thing missing. They have this heaven cloud feel pillows in the bedroom and the bed sheets smell so nice and fresh, you want to cuddle in bed all day. The living room offers a beautiful view over one of the main streets of the city center, which can be a little loud in the evening but you won’t hear anything once you close the window. I am 7 months pregnant and the stairs to the second floor also didn’t represent any problem at all. I think one of the biggest advantages of Alkmaar is that it’s close to everything around it: Amsterdam is just 30 minutes away and the beautiful Bergen aan Zee and Egmond aan Zee are just a 20 minutes ride. The stay doesn’t have a private parking since there are no cars allowed on the street of the accommodation but just 3 minutes by foot there is a parking garage with decent prices, especially if you plan spending your days and driving off, we payed between 18€/day and 6€ when arriving after 5 PM and going out in the morning before 10 AM.

  Disliked: The mattress on the main bed is maybe 20 cm smaller than the bed frame, but that is just a really small detail which doesn’t make the stay less comfortable.

  Disliked: Floor lamp to living room didn’t work. The dimmer switches to lights are faulty and need replacing ( I’m a builder)
