  Liked: The location was excellent, right next to the cheese market, which was very convenient and ideal for our visit.

  Disliked: Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel. Our room was located in an attic and could only be reached by very narrow, carpeted stairs. Luckily, the weather was not hot during our stay, because the room already felt quite stuffy. The worst experience was when I ordered soup at lunchtime and found a sharp piece of plastic in it. Fortunately, I noticed it before eating it, but this was completely unacceptable. Also, the room was booked for three people, but only two bath towels were provided. Overall, apart from the excellent location, the experience was disappointing and I would not recommend staying here.

  Great place to stay in old Alkmaar

  Liked: Friendly and helpful staff and very comfortable rooms

  Disliked: It was very spread out. The reception on one street and the hotel on another but this was a minor inconvenience

  Disliked: nowhere in room for suitcases unusual wc arrangement meant a need to use nearby wc if privacy preferred Male staff on first morning disorganised with a wait of 15 minutes for breakfast. an earlier starter time for breakfast would help as our train was 09.00 each day
