  Absolutely fantastic, highly recommend

  Liked: The location of the hotel was perfect, and we had a great view from our bedroom window of all the lovely streets. Adorable vintage decor and character throughout every area of the hotel, which is just to my taste. The continental breakfast was just right, plenty of variety. Slightly dated bathroom, but didn't matter as the shower worked perfectly well. Tea and coffee making facilities were fantastic as well. I would highly recommend this hotel. Staff were very welcoming and luggage storage facilities were so convenient.

  Disliked: We could hear some road noise - The windows are lovely and original, but they don't block out much sound. It didn't ruin our stay though, perhaps just bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.

  Excellent location, in a traditional hotel with friendly staff. Bit of a budget feel about the place but price didn’t q

  Liked: Excellent location in Jordaans region on the corner of two canals (Prienzengracht and Looiersgracht) meant the views from our canal view room with its small balcony were truly superb. It was easy to walk many locations in the city and only a 10-15 mins walk from a couple of different tram routes. Whilst there was plenty of hustle and bustle during the day it was super quiet at night which was a very pleasant surprise. Friendly and helpful staff on reception and at breakfast. The shower was very powerful with tonnes of hot water!

  Disliked: Room felt somewhat tired - some of furniture, whilst in an old style which was in keeping with the hotel, didn’t feel well looked after and room was a little grubby. We missed having a kettle in the room especially as the water in the machine downstairs for guest use wasn’t really hot enough for tea. Why no bin in the room, just bathroom? We knew not to expect a lift but did find the stairs super steep and were glad only on 2nd floor! Breakfast was tasty but on our second day many of the items were in short supply.

  Our stay was okay

  Liked: Location is great, complimentary coffee is nice and the old building has charm. Hotel staff are friendly and efficient.

  Disliked: The walls are thin, the street noise is loud and our bed mattress was very soft. Not a great place to get a good rest.

  Fab location, some disappointing aspects

  Liked: Location was wonderful. Hotel had a lot of character. Free hot drinks was a nice touch.

  Disliked: Given all the positive reviews about breakfast, we were expecting something better. No fresh fruit salad, frequently ran out of cheese/meat (from multipack) and ran out of eggs and yoghurts on our last morning. We were prepared for the steep stairs, part of the character, however really struggled with the noise having a room next to the stairs. It felt like a thundering herd of elephants clattering up and down at all hours.
