  Clean, but easy to forget hotel

  Liked: Clean room

  Disliked: The concept is not welcoming. There’s no kettle in the room. Everything, even tea, is charged extra. You control everything via ipod app, which takes 15s to wake up and load

  Very bay management at this hotel - made our stay on of the most uncomfortable stays I ever had in a hotel

  Disliked: We arrived after midnight and they told us that they were overbooked and didn't have a room for us. I have never experienced that in a hotel. So at 1am in the morning we had to change hotel to get a room at another hotel. The next day we had to change hotel again and literally after two nights they told us that we have to change room again because a waterpipe or something broke. It was all in all a super unpleasant stay and the staff didn't react like I would expect them to react in such a situation.

  CitizenM, always reliab

  Liked: Comfortable and large bed. Shower and toilet facilities are good. The iPad controllable rooms are a great unique feature in like about CitizenM hotels. Staff are always fantastic, accommodating and helpful. Downstairs bar area and outside smoking area are nice places to relax for a short break inbetween plans. Not my first visit, and likely not my last.

  Disliked: I don't actually like that the bathroom sink is actually in the same room as you, as compared to the bathroom and toilet being combined or having their own space. The lack of sitting areas is something that always catches me out, I work internationally so sometimes loke a decent space to work from. I guess the payoff here though is the size of the bed, which I always have a great night's sleep on. One thing to mention is the rising cost of staying in Amsterdam, due to city tax and other factors. In terms of what you get, the room is fairly small in comparison to what you could get for the same price a bit further from the centre, however the location is fantastic and for me its close to the office, metro, trams and bicycle rental places. Something worth mentioning is that the location is very connected, and a great example of dutch infrastructure.

Good to know

Not all rooms have bathroom facilities for the disabled. Please contact the hotel before your trip to inquire about the availability of mobility-accessible room features.

With the room iPad, all guests can control room lights, black-out blinds, curtains, temperature, as well as TV and radio channels. They can also stream from their own Netflix, Prime or Disney+ accounts (and many others), by connecting their phone, tablet or laptop to the TV via Chromecast (at no extra charge).

We do not allow animals, only service animals are allowed. Guests need to inform about the service animal before arrival.

The property accepts credit cards and debit cards. Cash is not accepted.
