We really enjoyed our stay in this historic home

Liked: Loved the history of the home Evert was a wonderful host and the room was well equipped with everything you’d want for a comfortable stay. The location was right on one of the oldest canals in Amsterdam. Loved the stair case and wooden floors. The cats were a bonus. The fridge was stocked with water, juice, beer and wine. There was a coffee maker and kettle. Cups, dishes, glasses, spoons. There was tea and coffee in abundance. The bathroom had all sorts of shampoo and bathroom products - no need to bring your own. There were lots of towels and a hairdryer. A library of books.

Disliked: The bed was two singles pushed together. Comfortable and clean but would have liked a full queen or king. It was a little expensive but we understood that we were paying for the historic experience.

A wonderful stay in a perfectly located, comfortable property, made even better by Evert’s exceptional warmth and hospit

Liked: Had a wonderful stay at Canal House, especially as a solo traveller. The location was perfect—centrally located and within a quick walk of Central station, restaurants, Dam Square, Jordaan, and other attractions. The room was spacious, airy, well maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. A special mention to Evert, the owner, who was incredibly kind and helpful and made sure my stay was relaxing and pleasant. I’d happily stay here again and highly recommend Canal House for anyone visiting Amsterdam!

Disliked: None, it was everything I was looking for and more!

Disliked: Nothing - the stairs are a bit brutal after a few beers
