Guest reviews
Very good
Liked: Bath, and lighting
Disliked: No heat in the room, pretty cold.
It was a good hotel for a quick stay very functional
Liked: Very well located near the museums and very functional
Liked: The hotel is fairly centrally located and looks attractive and nicely renovated at first glance. I particularly want to highlight the receptionist working the evening shifts on October 24 and 25. He was exceptionally friendly, attentive and helpful, genuinely understood our concerns and even remembered previous conversations – by far the best member of staff we encountered.
Disliked: Both rooms were supposedly higher-category accommodations rather than budget options: the first was a paid upgrade to an Executive Room, while the second was an allegedly even more expensive Comfort Room booked for a business trip. The Executive Room was extremely noisy, with guests using the wooden staircase at night and staff moving heavy crates in the adjacent storage room as early as 7 a.m.; it also had nail polish stains in the bathtub and a poorly designed shower that flooded the bathroom, while the Comfort Room had a filthy sink covered in toothpaste residue from previous guests, which I had to clean myself. Most staff seemed disengaged and unmotivated, showing little genuine interest in guest comfort or satisfaction. When I had to move to the Comfort Room in a separate building, nobody even offered to help with my heavy suitcase, which I had to struggle with up the entrance steps; thankfully, a kind couple passing by on the street noticed and helped me carry it to the building's entrance, while the hotel staff showed no concern whatsoever. During both check-outs, nobody bothered to ask whether everything had been satisfactory, and the petty extra charges for mediocre machine coffee only added to the disappointing experience. Considering the room categories and prices, I would certainly not stay here again.
Lovely location
Liked: Located in a quiet neighborhood that has a lot of character. Yet very close/walkable to Leidseplein. Very clean and comfortable. Our room had a patio which was amazing. We loved the high ceilings and the bathroom. The room had a mini fridge. The lobby area was nice with coffee and tea, and alcohol for purchase.
Liked: Excellent location in the city centre, a cosy room, an exceptionally comfortable bed, and a delicious breakfast.
Peaceful haven amongst the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam
Liked: Great position close to trams, and easy walking distance to most parts of Amsterdam. Room was spacious and modern. Bed was really comfy. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Nothing really.
