  The room is adequate and fully functional

  Liked: The Hotel Victorie is small and located in an affluent part of Amsterdam served by a most amazing tram services (number 4 and others) and close to all amenities; nearby is the excellent Dirk van den Broek Supermarket where staff still accept cash on your shopping. The food is fresh and you can find everything you need. It is enjoyable to saunter around taking in the picturesque Dutch Canals including the majestic Amstel River. The Hotel staff are helpful and easy to chat to. There is a wooded spiral staircase which reminds me of old-time manorial houses that leads to the rooms. Don’t worry, there is a good elevator as well. We have not availed of breakfast because we prefer eating out whilst doing our exploration rounds. We are impressed to see signs forbidding folks to feed pigeons or other pest-like creatures. Thank you for giving us a pleasant stay.

  Disliked: We will surely come back to this family-run hotel next time. Please, don’t let the price shoot-up too high. Nothing to complain. We made some wonderful Amsterdam memories, had cool getaway and productive vacation.

  Good value for money

  Liked: Good value for money. Nice breakfast and location. Clean.

  Disliked: Minor inconvenieces (fridge not working, incomplete towel set) that we were too lazy to bring up with the personnel, so they did not have a chance to address it. It did not matter that much.

  Reception staff pleasant and accommodating. Facilities mediocre

  Liked: Location, close to family.

  Disliked: No curtains in my room. Housekeeping was irritated when I asked for my room to be serviced. The bathroom shower flooded most of the bathroom.
