  Disliked: The lockers were so narrow that it was difficult to fit even a small bag inside. I asked a guy at reception multiple times about drinking water, and he simply told me to drink tap water. However, when I was checking out the next day, a lady at reception mentioned that there was a proper shared kitchen downstairs with all the kitchen facilities. The guy hadn’t bothered to mention this, even though I had asked him several times. The toilets weren’t clean either.

  Liked: it was very clean- beds were nice.

  Disliked: took a long time to check in- staff a bit annoying- according to my son who stayed there. he said there was only staff member and she didn't check people in in order.

  Liked: I liked the hostel's facilities, comfortable beds, and great location.

  Disliked: I would like to share my disappointment with my experience during my stay at the hostel. Although I was happy with the facilities, rooms and beds, the repeated miscommunication among staff made my stay unnecessarily stressful and disappointing. When I checked in, the night receptionist was playing with LEGO. This was not an issue for me, as I understand that working long night shifts can sometimes be tiring or boring. My concern, however, was what happened afterwards. After confirming my name and reservation, the receptionist checked the system, confirmed the length of my stay and informed me that I had been assigned to Room 301, Bed 1. However, when I entered the room, I discovered that Bed 1 was already occupied by someone who was sleeping. I went downstairs to explain the situation, and the receptionist told me that this was "normal and it happens". I then mentioned that Bed 7 appeared to be unoccupied, so he reassigned me to that bed. I had no problem with this arrangement. I simply wanted somewhere to rest and sleep. The following morning, I left the property and returned at around 7 PM. Unfortunately, my keycard no longer worked, and I could not access my room. I went to reception to explain the situation. When the staff checked the system, they informed me that I had actually been assigned to Bed 11. This understandably confused me, so I explained what had happened during my check-in with the night receptionist. The staff apologised and explained that I would need to remove the used linens from the bed I had slept in and return them to reception before moving to Bed 11, as another guest was arriving to use Bed 7. Again, I was understanding and had no objection to following their instructions. However, when I returned to Room 301, I discovered that someone was already sleeping in Bed 7. The reception staff apologised and appeared surprised by this as well.

  Liked: Rooms comfortable. Great value for money. Great common area facilities.

  Disliked: Not super convenient to major tram routes so will have to do lots of extra walking to get around Amsterdam.

Please note that automatic lockers are available before check-in and after check out : rental price is 2 euro per hour or 6 euro for 12 hours.

During your stay you will have an assigned locker in the room that can be locked with a padlock; bring your own or buy one at the reception for 5 euro.

Please note that the beds are not made, but bed linen will be provided and guests are required to make their own bed upon arrival. Towels are available at a surcharge.

Please state your gender in the Special Requests box when booking. You will then be allocated to the appropriate dorm.
