Very good
A Lovely Houseboat Experience, but Less Private Than Expected
Liked: The terrace is absolutely wonderful. Sitting right on the water, watching the boats go by and enjoying a cup of tea was definitely the highlight of our stay. The room was smaller than I expected, but overall it had everything we needed and was comfortable enough for a short stay. Staying on a houseboat in Amsterdam was a lovely and unique experience. However, the one thing I missed was a sense of privacy.
Disliked: The owner’s accommodation is located right next to the guest room, and you naturally pass by it whenever you go to the terrace. Because of this, I sometimes felt more like I was staying in someone’s home as a guest rather than renting a private space for ourselves. This might not be an issue for everyone, but I think it’s worth mentioning, as the listing gave me the impression that we would have the space to ourselves. Overall, it’s clear that the hosts put effort into making guests feel welcome, and we appreciated that. It was a pleasant experience, just not quite as private as I had imagined.
Liked: Outstanding place to stay. We'll be back
Unique Amsterdam Experience
Liked: The houseboat was a unique experience for us. We liked the experience of staying on the canal. The location was good and had plenty of restaurants around the area. The bed was was very comfortable and we had a very nice sleep. We liked the host Michelle, she was very nice, warm, and welcoming.
Disliked: We visited during summer and we had to open the windows at night. Since it's the canal there were mosquitos all over. I think having some screen or mosquito nets would help. We stayed for 6 nights and traveling Europe for 3 weeks. There was not enough luggage and storage space for two luggage we had to open one large luggage at a time.
Liked: The people are 10 out of 10 over here
Small but very confortable
Liked: The property is very nice and clean. Although it's quite small (as you can see in the photos), it has everything you need to make you feel comfortable. We stayed for a week, sleeping, having breakfast, and even having dinner on one day, all perfectly. The location is perfect, very close to the historic center, museums, etc., yet in a quiet area with all kinds of amenities.100% recommended.
Disliked: Nothing. It has everything you need to be comfortable. As a suggestion, maybe a second chair, even if it's foldable, would be nice.
Perfect Amsterdam retreat
Liked: We had a great stay despite poor weather. The houseboat is in a convenient location, so central and great restaurants nearby, and so nice to lie in bed with swans and ducks passing by.
