  Nice staff, near from the Centraal Station

  Liked: Great location, there is a fridge so you can leave groceries during the stay. Also allowed to leave your luggage after checkout.

  Disliked: The rooms lack of ventilation, the sheets are changed always when someone leaves but they do not clean the toilet, neither the shower that are in the same room. There is not even free coffee, and if you buy it there, it is like half coffee or half cappuccino.

  Disliked: Very Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Money I paid over €300 for four nights at Xplore Hostel Amsterdam, and honestly, the experience was nowhere near worth the price. The quality of the rooms and beds was disappointing, and the facilities were very limited. The kitchen facilities were particularly inadequate, and overall, the hostel does not offer the level of comfort or convenience you would expect for the amount charged. For such an expensive stay, the value for money is extremely poor. On top of that, the customer service at reception was disappointing. The receptionist I encountered was rude, unhelpful, and unresponsive, making the experience even more frustrating. Guests should be welcomed with basic courtesy and receive proper assistance when they need it. For the price they charge, the hostel seriously needs to improve its room quality, beds, kitchen facilities, and customer service. The management should also pay more attention to staff professionalism and guest satisfaction. Overall, I would not recommend this hostel at its current price. Paying over €300 for four nights should get you a much better experience than this. Very poor value for money, and I would not choose to stay here again.

  Disappointing Experience – Poor Facilities and Rude Staff

  Liked: Excellent central location The only major positive thing about this hostel was its very central location. It is conveniently situated for exploring Amsterdam and getting around the city. However, there are plenty of other accommodation options in the same central area, so location alone is not a sufficient reason to choose this hostel. Final Verdict Overall, I found Xplore Hostel Amsterdam disappointing. The extremely steep stairs, lack of basic facilities, rude staff, and unnecessary hassle over a refundable €10 deposit significantly affected my stay. The central location is a definite advantage, but there are many other hostels in Amsterdam that travellers can consider. My advice is to look at other options before booking and not let the convenient location be the only deciding factor. For the price you pay, you should at least expect basic facilities, reasonable customer service, and a straightforward check-out experience.

  Disliked: My stay at Xplore Hostel Amsterdam was quite disappointing. Although the hostel has an excellent central location, the lack of basic facilities, extremely steep stairs, and unpleasant staff interactions made my experience frustrating. There are several things that need serious improvement. 1. Extremely steep stairs and no elevator The hostel has no elevator, and the stairs are unusually steep, with much higher steps than normal staircases. My room was three levels above the reception area, and carrying my suitcase up those stairs was extremely difficult and exhausting. This is a major inconvenience, especially for travellers carrying heavy luggage. The hostel should clearly warn guests about these stairs before they book. 2. Almost no basic facilities The hostel does not provide basic facilities such as a kitchen, laundry facilities, or even a proper sink where guests can refill their water bottles. When I asked at reception about refilling my bottle, the guy told me to use the bathroom sink. Seriously? With seven or eight other people using the same bathroom, I found this suggestion extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. Providing a simple water-refilling facility should be the bare minimum for a hostel. 3. Rude and unhelpful staff The staff were quite rude, and the overall attitude did not make me feel welcome. Good customer service is important in any accommodation, but unfortunately, that was missing from my experience. 4. Unpleasant experience getting my €10 key-card deposit back Upon check-in, I was asked to pay a €10 deposit for the key card. I was clearly told that the money would be returned when I checked out and handed the card back. However, when I checked out and requested my deposit, the guy at reception told me there was a problem with my account because I had supposedly changed my bed. This was confusing because I had not changed my bed; the bed had been assigned to me by the hostel itself. I showed him the receipt as proof and explained that

• A 50 euros fine will be imposed if guests fail to adhere to the house rule of staying in the assigned bed. Please refrain from taking another person's bed during your stay, as this will result in the fine being enforced.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
