Good
Horrible wellness, dated facilities, unbothered staff. Avoid
Liked: It’s nice from the outside and must have also been nice from the inside once.
Disliked: It seemed the hotel was not really busy, we’ve hardly seen any people. However on the 4th floor and judging by other noises also on the 5th there were groups of young people shouting and partying the whole night. That prompted other rooms to bang on the walls which made the whole thing worse. We were woken up constantly between 12-5:30am, when they probably passed out. Don’t be misled by the name, this Kurhotel is not really a Kurhotel. There is a small wellness with a sad little swimming pool that stinks (and not like thermal water would). The whole wellness area smells like unwashed foot. There is a sauna, an infra and a steam cabin and some showers. That’s it, for a kurhotel. Even the sauna smelled like foot, I can’t even imagine how that’s even possible. Keycards randomly stop working and the staff is more annoyed than you who have been going up and down trying to get into your room. Multiple guests were also complaining about this. Reception didn’t even bother saying sorry.
A frightening and disappointing anniversary experience. We felt too unsafe to stay and left without using the room
Liked: The hotel is located in a beautiful historic building by the beach. Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy our stay.
Disliked: We booked this hotel to celebrate our anniversary, but unfortunately, it turned into a very frightening and disappointing experience. It was not simply about noises near the staircase. The overall atmosphere and what we experienced inside the property made both of us feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. We were so frightened that we returned to our room only to collect our luggage and leave immediately. We did not use the bed, bathroom, or any of the room facilities. We contacted the hotel afterwards, hoping they would understand our situation. Unfortunately, our refund request was declined, and we were offered 15% off a future stay instead. We understand that the hotel may have its own policies, but we genuinely felt too frightened to stay. This was supposed to be a special anniversary, and we left feeling deeply disappointed.
Splendid stay in a hotel that breaths history
Liked: The history of the hotel makes it very peculiar

Dated charm, disappointing experience
Liked: A disappointing experience and quite possibly one of the worst hotel stays we’ve had in terms of value for money. The location is probably the only positive. The hotel is historic and has character, but it feels dated, and the five-star rating does not reflect the experience. Interactions with staff left me genuinely bewildered as to whether customer service was still a concept the hotel subscribed to. The pools were another major disappointment. They operate at restricted hours for children and is more a wellness spa than a hotel swimming pools. There is very little you can actually do beyond wading through the water (they constantly came by to ask to the kids to stop jumping or playing too noisily). If you book a five-star with a pool this is certainly not what you expect. Breakfast is served between 7 and 11 a.m., but guests must pre-book a slot for your whole stay on checkin. Nothing says relaxing family holiday quite like having to schedule breakfast around a fixed time slot, alongside the pool timetable. The plates are small so you have to return a few times to the Buffett - the options were really nice but the restaurant was so crowded it was so difficult navigating the tables and you are sitting right up against the table next door. The rooms are pleasant enough but dated. Ours had such a strong smell of bleach that it lingered throughout our two-day stay. The bed had a very soft pillow top that was caving in the middle - so uncomfortable! To make matters worse, there was a large wedding taking place that weekend. From 5 p.m. on Saturday (17th Oct), the two floors containing the communal amenities were effectively unusable, with an extraordinary amount of noise. They did send a note a few days before informing but by this time the weekend plans were already made and we couldn’t really cancel. This was followed by an intense 30-minute fireworks display at midnight, apparently organised by the wedding guests.
Liked: The location and building is outstanding.
Disliked: The bed. Two single beds pushed together does not constitute a double bed and two separate single quilts do not make for a comfortable nights sleep. For a 5star hotel it is very poor especially when the room costs a lot of money. I also found the room dark as the lighting is poor.
