Not suitable for accommodation
Liked: The only good thing was the hope that it would be a nice Dutch-style house, but that hope did not materialize.
Disliked: 1. No lighting at the entrance and staircase. The entrance and the stairs leading to the apartment were completely dark, with no functioning lighting. While trying to find the key and gain access to the property in the darkness, my husband slipped on the stairs and injured his leg.Neighbours eventually came to help us and brought a portable light so that we could enter the property. 2. Once we entered, we found extensive mould in the accommodation and a strong unpleasant smell. Shortly after entering the property, we both developed severe headaches. Given the condition of the accommodation, we did not consider it safe or appropriate to remain there. 3. The staircase leading to the bedroom on the second floor is extremely confined, and a concrete beam hangs directly above the stairs at head level. While using the staircase, I hit my head on the concrete beam and developed a haematoma. 4. In addition, we repeatedly attempted to contact the property using the telephone number provided in our booking confirmation, via WhatsApp, and through telephone - no response or assistance.

Liked: A wonderful topical house in Volendam. We really enjoyed the stay in this house, it is actually a really authentic experience staying in such a nice house. The area is beautiful and very quite, is very close to the port zone and surrendered by shops and restaurants. I really recommend staying in this house. Thank you.

This wasn’t a cheap stay and while we loved the surroundings the property was not worth it
Liked: The location is fantastic, both on its own and for travelling back and forth to Amsterdam. The self check-in experience via lock-box is always a plus.
Disliked: SPIDERS. EVERYWHERE. The bathroom doesn’t have a proper door. The bathroom is very dark and the light doesn’t stay on, making it difficult to shower. There is a very old tv that didn’t seem to work.
Highly recommend this warm and cute little house! We can wait to visit again!
