  Not quite what we expected

  Liked: Location was a main reason for booking this apartment

  Disliked: Felt it lacked a few creature comforts like cushion pads for the dining chairs and balcony seats and a mismatch of glasses and crockery Although we were made aware of the building work being carried out opposite the property, the option to cancel once we had paid left us little time to find an alternative apartment in the same location, perhaps the level of building works being carried out should be highlighted when choosing this accommodation as it did have an impact on our stay

  Liked: My parents stayed in this apartment for 11 days and had a wonderful experience. Even despite the construction in front of the building, everything was truly excellent. The apartment is very well maintained, clean, and offers a beautiful view of the ocean. We would also like to say a huge thank you to the hosts for their care, attention, and great communication throughout the stay — you are amazing hosts! We can definitely recommend this apartment and would happily stay again.

  Terrible Apartment, Bad Host

  Liked: The apartment is on the main road close to the main coastal promenade. Our first stay in this apartment but our 4th winter stay in this beautiful compact fishing village that is centrally located in the Algarve.

  Disliked: Although we reserved for a 3 week stay back in September, '25, the host Duarte (who in 3 weeks never showed up to welcome us) advised us of the massive construction of a future Hotel the size of 2 football fields with 2 swinging cranes dangerously close to the apartment, working from sunrise to sunset ONLY AFTER he took our full payment at the end of February - just shortly before our scheduled arrival in March, not giving us much time to look for an alternative in Armacao de Pera. We learned from other renters in the building and local business owners that the construction excavation actually began before Christmas so Duarte had ample time (almost 3 months) to alert us to the issue to find a suitable replacement. In addition, he kept advertising the apartment on Booking after we checked in on March 16th WITHOUT indicating in words or pictures the fact that seaview was in fact a construction view. That is just dishonest and bait and switch advertising, not typical of Portuguese culture. The apartment does not offer a clear Seaview and the resulting dust and noise are unbearable as is the possibility of using the 3 by 2 foot terrace for sitting or drying your clothes. For that reason alone, a refund of half the price should have been offered. As well, there are numerous hygiene issues with the apartment: There is mould just along the seam of the living room window caused by the top left window condensation. Also mould along the base of the shower tiles AND the shower glass door seal. There is significant odour in the master bedroom.There is also significant dust along the casing in each room that appears to have never been vacuumed. The plaster on the wall is crumbling in the second bedroom AND the living room just below the construction view window sills as well as outside the front door of the apartments. The high kitchen chairs are rickety as are the dining room chairs and could break just by sitting on them. The towels are very old and are like sandpaper.

  Great stay at Casa dos Peixes

  Liked: Fantastic location and views on this 3rd floor Apartment. It was very clean and well equipped. Less than 10 minutes walk to the beach across the road (not a busy road) and the open gravel car park, which is free to park. The flat walk into Armação de Pêra is an added bonus and shops and restaurants within another ten minutes walk. Lovely little coffee shop/snack bar called, ALMALUSA just a two minutes walk from the building door to the right and another little gem. Would definitely recommend Casa dos Peixes and would be happy to book again.

  Disliked: Nothing not to like.

  Good location with plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from

  Liked: Lovely view from our 3rd floor apartment. Good air conditioning. Well equipped modern kitchen.

  Disliked: The double bed was not comfortable and needs replacing. Another bedside table needed too.
