  Worth a stay

  Liked: This is a great hotel in a nice spot away from the hustle of Porto

  Disliked: Maid service is a little tardy, turned up one afternoon at 5pm as we got back from a day out. Reception were helpful

  Fabulous Stay

  Liked: Very clean hotel with a fabulous pool area. Also in a great location for exploring the Port houses and a short walk to places where you can enjoy the sunset views of Porto. Close to a tram stop and delicious bakery.

  Liked: Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast, very reasonable evening meal and nice aesthetics.

  Disliked: Despite confirmation of booking from the hotel and paying in full, when we arrived after a long day of travel there was no booking on the system. We were not allocated the room choice we had booked. Customer cars were parked up against our window despite booking a tranquil garden view. Long walk to town and rail station.

  Liked: Good value, nice outdoor pool, breakfast, quiet.

  Disliked: Staff [bar 1 latest receptionist] were disengaged/surly. No communal area or lounge indoors to hang out with fellow travellers. Rooms are compact - bedroom area fittings ill equipped and need updating.

  Disappointing

  Liked: The property has potential. It’s a nice lay out. The bed was clean and comfortable. It is in a decent location.

  Disliked: The toilet was not functioning during my entire stay and the response to my complaint was to tell me it was working (it wasn’t). I eventually managed to get it to flush by using the shower to fill the cistern, but remediable plumbing is not something you expect to have to do on holiday. There was a very long wait at reception. It takes about 20 minutes to check each guest in. The staff at the bar were brusque and unpleasant. The restaurant was closed (despite them talking a reservation for us (which was just a bit weird).

  Liked: Loved the atmosphere and style. Very calm and quiet.

  Disliked: Our only issue was the restaurant/bar. Very quiet, not much choice, people seemed to avoid it. Also much more expensive than restaurants in the area.
