Liked: The staff is lovely. Also when you get to the reception you get a feeling you’re more in a hotel then a hostel. Nice common area.

Disliked: The beds in my room (7 of them) are all connected by a giant metal loop sort of so you can pretty much feel whenever someone is moving.

Liked: Oh Sandeman!!!!! This place had reviews that did not tell a single lie! I stayed in the all female dorm, and met some amazing women! The staff..... every single one I spoke with were so friendly, engaging in conversation, helpful, and made me feel at home. This was my first true hostel experience, as well as my first international travel solo. I was absolutely delighted with the breakfast selection each morning. I never even needed to order off the extra options menu. The ease of restaurant and bar which being Sandeman and offering discount for staying in the hostel was a nice unexpected delight. I was able to walk the bridge and explore the city with ease. Then even at nighttime walking the area, and small cobblestone roads..... I felt safe. I never once felt like I was on guard or that someone was unsafe, too close for my liking. On an adventure you heal and remember what it is to navigate this world alone, I was constantly surprised with beauty, friendly people, as well as space to just be alive. The beds here!!!! One, the architecture of them, brilliant! So comfortable, the bed, the pillows, the duvet and comforter!! Ahh attention to detail! The locker space you put your own code was large!! Tall and wide, thankfully! The showers were in each bathroom, so you had complete privacy. Clean! I can't stress enough how clean! I truly cried as I left to explore more of Portugal. I can not wait to return.....

    Very much enjoyed it all

Liked: Our room had issues but after telling the staff and they were not able to fix it in time, they swiftly gave us a new room. It was even better than the first one. Great views!

Disliked: No elevator? I guess that is usual though.:)

Central, classy, and fab mix of age groups

Liked: Bang in centre on the quayside. We had a fab suite overlooking old Porto. Breakfast was great and enjoyed the mix with the hostel room folk

Disliked: Liked it, but beware evening noise and motorbike gathering up and down quayside on Sunday mornings
