  Kind people, unique and historical location

  Liked: The location was good. It was a hike up the hill from the town, but our mobility is good so not an issue for us.

  Disliked: Our cottage was very basic, with no character - not like the lovely old main building. We knew it was going to be basic from the pictures online, however the grounds around our cottage needed work. The deck off the kitchen was rotting, and the garden was unkept.

  Gorgeous house and location. Recommend a taxi to the house as the hill is very steep

  A beautiful little oasis in Sintra – we wish we had stayed longer!

  Liked: We absolutely loved our stay at Quinta das Murtas! Such a beautiful, peaceful place with a wonderful atmosphere. Our room was gorgeous, with lovely views over the gardens and the valley beyond. It was such a pleasure to wake up to that scenery. One of the biggest surprises was the location. We initially thought we would need our car to explore Sintra, but everything was within walking distance, which was fantastic! A special thank you to Romulus, who gave us such a warm and genuine welcome at reception. He was incredibly helpful and shared some wonderful recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. We actually ended up having dinner at the same restaurant twice because we enjoyed it so much! We felt completely at home here. We stayed for two nights, but I genuinely wish we had booked a third. It’s one of those places where you immediately feel comfortable and don’t want to leave. We would happily return and highly recommend it!
