Fabulous
Good but can do better
Liked: Spa, breakfast and outdoor pools
Disliked: Staff at reception were not very helpful or accommodating, informations about the hotel facilities or activities were answered shortly and we were told to check once in the room for details….

Liked: This hotel is one of the best we've stayed in. We booked a suite. It was huge, originally two rooms. It had a very comfortable super king bed. Two bathrooms, a lounge area, and also a small kitchen area with cutlery, crockery and a fridge. The apartment had a large balcony with table and chairs overlooking the pool area. The views were stunning across the hills and to Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle in the distance. As the balcony was south west facing it was very sunny and great to see the sun set. We had breakfast and ate at the hotel one evening. Everywhere was immaculately clean. Can't recommend this place highly enough.
Disliked: Nothing really, just very busy at the pool at times. We went in September after the holidays in the UK but Portugal were still on their summer holidays.
Disappointing. 3 star experience dressed as 5
Liked: The pools, they were clean. There seem to be a lot of activities for children but the staff could use some training. The pool bar worked nicely.
Disliked: The food at breakfast and dinner was atrocious, the buffets seemed to have come out of a vending machine, there was no quality whatsoever and most of the carts sat there overheating Lildl-like pasta and eggs, you could hear everything from your room, children crying, people chatting, the furniture in the room was worn out, only four pillows for two people and one bath towel per person. The hotel's furniture was made out of PVC and plastic, very 2 star vibe. Staff was overworked and confused, the room was not ready when we came to check-in, had to wait a good half hour. The whole experience felt like, max, a 3 star hotel. How do they entitle themselves as a 5 star is beyond me!
