Perfect for relaxing by the pool
Liked: The apartment we stayed in was mostly great - comfortable beds and nice sea views. The pools were lovely - the heated one in Marina del Rey was almost too warm - and we really enjoyed the morning workouts. It was only a short stroll to the beach and a 30-40 minute walk along the beach into town. The staff were friendly and helpful and the resort had a nice relaxed vibe.
Disliked: When we arrived we thought that our kitchen was missing a lot of equipment - there was lots of free space in the cupboards and no breadknife, chopping board, spatula, corkscrew etc. We went to guest services and they provided these items quickly for us, so not a serious problem. But then on the last day we found everything we were looking for hidden away in a corner cupboard under the TV. Why? Who keeps kitchen equipment under the TV? Also, it's not the hotel's fault but the buses into Fuengirola are very unreliable. Of the three times we tried to catch a bus we only succeeded once - the others we ended up taking a taxi or walking after a long and frustrating wait. So don't expect to be able to rely on getting the bus to or from town.
