Guest reviews
Very good
Disliked: There was dirt everywhere.
Dani is the best!!! Viva Gran Canaria y viva Venezuela!
Liked: The views, the people you meet, the animals... everything is nice except two people and the kitchen. Special thanks to Dani, from Venezuela, one of the best human beings I've met in my life. His hard work, dedication and patience was the key in the house.
Disliked: First the kitchen, full of cockroaches at night. The current boss of this business doesn't care about that and treats the team of volunteers as slaves. When she is at home she is usually very rude to every kind of Spanish speaker and doesn't even live there while she is getting the benefits of the rental contract. She goes sometimes like for holidays and doesn't even have a reception to make the check in neither is possible to pay by card in the place. Moreover, a volunteer whose name is Cansin had a fight with another volunteer at 7:50am in the morning while the guests were sleeping. He also woke the people up in the morning a different day shouting like crazy and normally only cares about smoking and playing games. Shouts at night inside the house not caring about others and more things I will not say. That guy and the current boss should be kicked out to get a better situation and energy in the house/hostel and correct functioning of the business, as sometimes the guest have to see those scenes in a place that is supposed to be meditative and peaceful. Thanks for your work Dani and to every other beautiful soul I met in that house during my time there. PD: Hey Bea, this is Gran Canaria.
Unice, cozy, interesting
Liked: Perfect location! Very delicious breakfast!
Liked: A place with a very special atmosphere. Thanks to the owner, it is full of practical solutions and artistic additions. The accommodation offers breakfast and dinner, which the owner prepares and makes some fantastic dishes. I can only recommend it to anyone who wants to be a little separated from the noise of the city and relax, but at the same time have the opportunity to connect/communicate with people in the good atmosphere of the common room and there is an some music instruments that you can use. There is also the possibility of camping and renting a cave in addition to the normal hostel accommodation.
Disliked: The place is indeed very unusual and unique, but it is not very well maintained. The cellar has great potential, but the path leading to it is rather chaotic. The whole place feels somewhat neglected, and a few additional lights could make it much cozier. It also doesn’t look nearly as good as it does in the photos. In the end, we decided not to stay. I asked for a refund, but without success (to be fair, the booking conditions clearly stated that it was non-refundable).
Liked: The hammock in the tree
