  expensive, but really nice

  Liked: Hotel, rooms, location, food is great. staff are lovely, always being very welcoming

  Disliked: I wanted an early check in so I could get sorted and go to my meetings, unfortunately it was not possible. I also wanted a late check out (only 2 hours longer) was told to check on the day, on the day it was a flat no, because the person/s due were arriving early, How did they get early check in?. I don't think they accommodate anyone early in or late out,

  Disliked: ​I rarely leave negative reviews, but our stay at Barceló Santiago was a massive letdown and fell far short of basic expectations. ​Room & Hygiene Issues The absolute lowest point of our stay was finding a cockroach in our room one night. It was extremely unpleasant and completely unacceptable for a hotel of this category. On top of the hygiene issues, the in-room safe was broken and completely unusable. ​Parking Nightmare & Unprofessional Reception Given that almost everyone drives in Tenerife, the parking situation here is atrocious. For a huge hotel accommodating hundreds of guests, they offer a tiny lot with roughly 20 spaces and charge an exorbitant €25 per day. The spaces themselves are dangerously tight; ours had a metal bar extending halfway into the parking spot, making it nearly impossible to park a larger car without risking damage. When we went to the front desk to clarify the situation, the receptionist was super unfriendly, completely unaccommodating, and looked at us like we were crazy for expecting proper parking. ​Dining & Cleanliness While the breakfast buffet selection was okay, the overall dining experience was chaotic, messy, and poorly maintained. The coffee machines were extremely dirty, and on two separate occasions, there were live pigeons flying inside the indoor dining area with staff completely ignoring them. The beach bar was equally disappointing—overpriced and very poor quality. I ordered pasta, and it arrived cold. ​Overall The hotel felt way too crowded, chaotic, and poorly managed. The only silver lining of the entire stay was the evening entertainment, as some of the shows were actually quite good. However, good entertainment doesn't compensate for dirty facilities, rude customer service, and room pests. We will definitely not be returning.

  Liked: Good location with great views of the sea, staff were very good and helpful.

  Disliked: Buffet a bit samey, although generally good. The hotel is a bit tired in places.
