Comfortable, great breakfast, great views, great little town

Liked: Such a beautiful view across the barranco to Los Realejos. The bed was so comfortable, and for me the location was great. A little out of the way but easy to access Puerto de la Cruz by bus (I had a scooter so even easier). The breakfast was a really good spread with meats and eggs and pastries and little local delicacies. Even with the carnivals happening in the town it was quiet enough. Also I had a meal in the restaurant and it was superb. I had an issue with my booking (I booked the wrong month) and the manager was very accommodating.

Disliked: There were only two negatives - the shower doors could do with a repair (I'm not a fan of sliding shower doors - they always cause problems after a bit of time), and the bluetooth speaker used in the restaurant kept cutting out.

We will be back whenever we can. Loved it there!

Liked: The most beautiful building, excellent view, comfortable and amazing, attentive staff. The food was excellent and the restaurant went out of their way to provide vegan options.

Disliked: The room bathroom wasn't so private with glass screens instead of walls.

Liked: Comfortable bed, friendly staff, breakfast is different every day.

Disliked: The room looks nice, but it's not comfortable to be in. The sink is in the room, not isolated. If your companion is sleeping, the sound of the running water will disturb them. The bathroom has no ventilation, so all the odors linger there forever. There's only one trash can, and that's in the bathroom, which is inconvenient. The light fixture hums when turned off. You could replace it with LED lighting. In the wall lamps, one lamp is warm, the other is cold. Please use the same type of bulbs. We washed some clothes, but they dry very poorly and there's nowhere to hang them.

Liked: The hotel is located inside a nice old building, well preserved, with a very nice inner patio, and with a nice terrace with a view to the near valley and to the ocean. breakfast is good My room was cleaned/arranged well every day

Disliked: In fact I met only one lady from the staff at the place, who takes care of everything: breakfast, reception, room arranging and cleaning… the reception is closed all day, when arrived I found the lady in the kitchen and waited 20min for her to open the reception for me. Why I will not prefer this hotel on my next visit: 1. as I mentioned before the terrace and maybe other rooms facing east with nice view and space, my room, number 14, was facing west and the window was opening toward the street on the street level, with pedestrians passing just in front of my window, and cars parking just near it,(see photos attached) so basically opening the window is not an option. 2. even with all lights on, the room was very dark. 3. breakfast is served very late, 9:00-10:00. Very inconvenient for people who want to start the day early

More hassle than was worth, but happy to have experienced this little gem of a community!

Liked: The little community around this place is beautiful! Great place to walk at night and visit the pavilion behind the church for great food and drinks. Dragon trees were a big thrill to see lit up at night.

Disliked: On a very steep hill with no designated parking, must be a good driver. Every night we arrived back to the hotel, no light were on in the foyer and not easy to find light switches. Found it to be dangerous having to navigate old wooden stairs. Room didn’t have a separate bathroom. There was a shower partition, a sink in the room between the commode partition with no privacy.

Liked: we liked the decor and the history. The lady at reception, Tina, was lovely and spoke English very well.

Disliked: The neighborhood was a bit sketchy, it was difficult to find stores and restaurants close by. The hotel restaurant was lovely but had very limited hours. We did not opt for the breakfast because we felt it also had extremely limited hours, only one hour available and a bit expensive. If you got lucky, the parking was great if not, it was a bit confusing. The main bedroom window did not have glass, it was wood shutters and was extremely noisy for most of the night. The bathroom situation was odd, the walls do not go right to the ceiling, so there was very little privacy.
