The place is on a great location, has great breakfast, overall good value for the money, except for the cockroach ☹️

Liked: The location is very good, close to the beach and the street with lots of restaurants and shops. The staff was polite and friendly. Breakfast was very good with lots of options. The view was very nice, you can see the beach and Teide.

Disliked: It is a bit outdated, there were brooken tiles in the bathroom, room doors are hard to close so it creates a lot of noise. There was only one chair on the balcony for 2 guests. It was clean, but on the last morning there was a cockroach in our bathroom:(

    Great location no complaints here

Liked: Hello, just thought I’d leave an honest review from a British family of 5 travellers. Children age 7 to 14. You won’t beat the location if you like to be able to walk into the town ( which is full of shops and restaurants). Lovely Habour and to us we found everyone to be very friendly. The beach is beautiful literally just behind the hotel. Our room was clean, a bright white room with a traditional Spanish finish lots of space. The pool was perfect for my boys as we love to hit the town and use the pool for a few hours. Food was great for us lots of choice. Very tasty and always a fresh grill option too. Siam park was an hour and a half away and we organised via the hotel we loved it. We’re not big on entertainment so that didn’t bother us. If you want a smaller hotel that’s very well located then do book.

    Good outweighs the bad!

Liked: This hotel really has good sides and bad. Overall I had a lovely holiday here and considering the price I was happy. Pros - Breakfast was great! Dinner was hit and miss but lots of options! Air con in the rooms was amazing and the beds were super comfy! Local supermarket within 3 min walk. View from balcony was incredible. Room cleaned every day. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool, no matter what time you went to the pool. Cons- shower temperature went really hot to freezing cold and when showering a child this was tricky! The pool was closed for over a day due to maintenance. The pool is small and doesn’t allow any inflatables. Staff would close areas off during peak times of the day to mop the floors, this could be done early in the morning before most guests are awake instead of inconveniencing guests. Lifts are quirky, we were level 6 and lift wouldn’t open at level 6. Had to go to level 7 and walk down.

Liked: Good location with view on ocean

Disliked: The location of the hotel is very good, but in my opinion, it does not meet 4-star standards and is in serious need of renovation. The room felt very dated: dirty walls, old furniture with loose or broken handles, broken door handles, rust in the bathroom, and a bidet that leaked directly onto the floor. Even the lock on the room door worked only intermittently. There were only two electrical sockets in the room, with one hidden behind a large desk. Considering how many devices people travel with nowadays, this is extremely inconvenient. The old TV only had Spanish channels, the picture did not always work properly, and there was no YouTube, Netflix or other streaming option, making it practically useless for non-Spanish speakers. There was also no kettle or tea in the room. I asked reception for an iron and received a very old one with a dirty soleplate and completely worn-off temperature markings. As a result, I accidentally burned my dress while trying to iron it. Housekeeping was another inconvenience. They would knock before 10 a.m. asking about cleaning, so it felt like you had to be awake and preferably out of the room by around 9 a.m. or risk missing the cleaning. I have stayed in many hotels, and unfortunately, despite the excellent location, this one does not feel like a 4-star hotel. It needs significant renovation, better maintenance and more modern facilities.

    Mixed experience

Liked: This hotel really is a tale of two halves. The staff are working very hard and efficiently, but the buildings and facilities really need help! It’s rated 4 star by Spanish standards which definitely isn’t accurate, and even its 3 star Jet 2 rating is at risk of slipping in some areas. Let’s start with the positives: - Great breakfast. Staff worked really hard to keep it replenished and tables were always cleared and reset quickly. Good choice of options. Enjoyed my breakfast each day. - Very powerful and reliable air con in the rooms which is super. Bed was also very comfy. -All areas are very clean. Maids work hard in the rooms and the pool, bar areas, toilets, restaurant etc are all kept to a good standard of cleanliness. - Location is pretty handy, with a 10 min walk to the main square on one side and the beach very close by on the other. My balcony had a stunning view of the town and Mt. Teide which was fab. Now the areas that urgently need addressing: - Major maintenance issues in the bathrooms. My bath was incredibly rusty (see attached photo). The shower was either scalding or freezing and water pressure was not great. My toilet made a very loud whistling noise every time it was flushed and my friend had a leak in her room from the bathroom above on our last day. To their credit, reception and maintenance addressed this latter problem very quickly. - Plugs!! In 2026, having one plug per room simply isn’t acceptable. The fact that it’s the same plug to be used for the TV (and any other devices) even less so. It’s nowhere near the bed and I couldn’t make use of the TV at all due to always needing to charge my phone there. - The furniture is all very tired, shabby and worn looking, as are many of the fittings and fixtures. Most things feel like they’re on their last legs. My friend’s door was broken, didn’t close properly, and the key card stopped working several times during the holiday. - The food in the pool bar at lunch time is not great. Fries were slightly undercooked both times we had them and toasted sandwiches were cold. Can’t comment on dinner buffet as we had bed and breakfast only. - They also ran out of pool towels despite not having that many sun beds so had to go out and buy my own towel. In summary, if you’re looking for a straightforward stay with few frills and are happy to put up with outdated/faulty facilities, you will still have an enjoyable stay here. If you want any comforts in the room such as a kettle, tea/coffee, cups, water etc, make sure to bring all of this yourself as not much is provided apart from the bare bones of the furniture and some shower gel & shampoo. You also need to ask for a safe key at reception and there is a cost attached to this. I believe it was 3 euro a day, from memory. It is an old fashioned safe and you have to carry the key around with you. Overall I would say I would return to the hotel if pushed, thanks to the high standards of cleaning and the staff work ethic. It also provides a handy location to enjoy the lovely town of Puerto de la Cruz. But would probably look for somewhere of a higher standard next time and more representative of a 3-4 star stay.
