  Liked: Very close to lugano train station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Happy hour was an added bonus (6 chf for 1/4 bottle of white wine - surprising for switzerland). Ticino ticket allowed free train regional and buses which gave more options to go further afield.

  A classic, classy hotel that’s like an oasis, with great views and train-friendly location

  Liked: Fantastic location for train and bus connections - just go up the stairs for Track 4 at the station, and you are steps away from the hotel. Yet train noise was never a problem. To get down to the lake level, go to the train station and take the funicular right down to the shopping district. Or take many stairs. The hotel has a classic atmosphere with a palm forest (the „park“) and lovely decor that brings a fine older era into modern hospitality. We had a room with lake view and balcony, which I highly recommend. Breakfast was very good in variety and quality. The Ticino Ticket provided by the hotel was great for taking buses wherever we wanted to go in the whole region. Happy hour in the little bar has a nice atmosphere. Staff were all excellent and hospitable.

  Disliked: Not a huge deal, but the bathroom opened right near the bed with a sliding non-soundproof door, so it wasn’t as private as we might have liked for 2 friends traveling together. But I would never let that stop me from choosing this hotel again - I would love to return.

  A lovely, elegant hotel within easy walking distance of the main train station

  Liked: We were very happy with this hotel and wished we could stay more than the one night. There were 4 of us occupying 2 rooms. The location was very convenient to the train station as we arrived by train at night and had to leave the following morning for the 9:18am Gotthard Panorama train. The hotel was quite elegant, the staff very polite and helpful, the rooms very nice and comfortable and the breakfast room large and airy with big windows. The breakfast was excellent.
