Very good
Liked: Very disappointing experience – poor heating and lack of support We booked this apartment for three nights and paid approximately £310, plus a £200 deposit. The location was central, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen and most other areas were clean. However, our overall experience was extremely disappointing. The heating repeatedly failed during our stay in late October, when the weather in Scotland was particularly cold and stormy. Although the property manager, Duncan, initially talked us through resetting the boiler, the problem kept recurring. Despite being told that an engineer would attend, the heating eventually stopped working completely, leaving us without heating or hot water. The most disappointing part was the lack of support. When the heating failed late on Saturday night, I called the manager repeatedly but received no answer. The emergency contact number provided was also unable to help. With my wife and our two young children, aged seven and nine, we had no choice but to find alternative accommodation at nearly midnight. We paid £61 for a night at Premier Inn and £23 for a taxi. I informed the manager of what had happened and requested a discussion about the inconvenience, particularly as we could not stay at the apartment that night. I received no meaningful response or apology, even after following up several days later. There were also some minor issues with cleanliness in the living room, particularly the rug and the fabric chairs, and the apartment did not have a microwave when we arrived. Although a microwave was subsequently provided, this was another inconvenience. The location and beds were good, and the kitchen was clean, but these positives were overshadowed by the repeated heating failures and, most importantly, the lack of communication and support when we needed help. I would strongly advise anyone considering this accommodation to confirm that the heating and hot water are working properly before booking.
