Pleasant
you get what you pay for
Liked: Time has stood still in this place since the 80s at least. It is great value for a reason. The location is great but the whole building could do with a major renovation. It is clean ish... but some grime in the bathroom and everything about to fall apart is a little unnerving. The bed is clean and comfortable and the heater on the wall works. It is great location and value but I suppose you get what you pay for.
Disliked: Everything is very old, falling apart, and grimy
Dreadful. So dirty and rough could not stay. Refused refund
Liked: The shower was hot
Disliked: This is clearly a hotel used as a HMO, bedsits or hostel. The room was filthy, not hoovered, a mouldy dirty shower, with urine in the toilet. I waited for Booking.com to move me but they said as I had checked in (that’s the first thing you do when you arrive) and because the owner would not reply. I slept on top of bed as so uncomfortable and concerns over dirty mattress. Woken at 3am by rowdy men outside, calling up at someone. One woman distressed as she had taken an injured person living on street into her room who’d then attacked her. It seemed as if this is a normal event. This is an unsafe, dirty place to stay, so I had to leave after the first night. Man on reception ‘Luke’ pretended to not be the owner, he refused a refund, he refused to clean or view the room to sort. By that time both the hotel and Booking.com had taken my money.
Dreadful, not to be repeated
Liked: Lovely old property. Such a shame the maintenance has been let go.
Disliked: Main entrance locked on arrival. Had to ring repeatedly for someone to attend. Room door handle difficult (jamming) on opening. Freezing cold room - one tiny electric heater. Large gaps in curtains. Single glazed windows that didn’t shut or lock properly. Radiator not working. No bed spread. Shower not working (no water pressure). No staff about to speak to.
Inexpensive but not a good night’s sleep
Liked: Good location to where we wanted to be and free parking. The bedding was clean and the bedroom reasonably well presented. Cheap stay.
Disliked: The place was in darkness when we arrived and we had to phone a number to be let in. Throughout the night there was a constant knocking/creaking noise coming from maybe the pipes in the wall next to the bed which kept me awake a lot of the night. The bathroom was shabby with limescale buildup around the shower.
Great hotel, great location. The bathroom was a bit of a shock but aside, the room was lovely
Liked: Location and free parking
