Very good
It was good but could be improved
Liked: It was clean around the hotel we only stayed for one night so couldn’t explore the areas within the hotel
Disliked: No free parking when it should be available really was disappointed they should have free parking regardless because guests pay to stay there, the shower head holder wasn’t working kept going down wasn’t stable other than that everything else was good

Ok for the money
Liked: Very comfy bed and the bar looked lovely!
Disliked: The heating in the bedroom wouldn’t work and we needed to leave the bathroom door open to get the heat from the radiator. The bathroom was boiling as we couldn’t turn the radiator down. Also, from 6.30am there was a loud noise which sounded like an extractor fan coming from outside. Our room was right next to lots of generators.

Good hotel in a good location
Liked: The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The downstairs bar and dining areas were well decorated. Nice bathroom with great water pressure. Single room was a nice size with toiletries and a decent selection on the tea and coffee station. The hot breakfast was delicious and I appreciated my dietary needs were very well catered for.
Disliked: Everytime the room next door flushed the toilet overnight it made a lot of noise. I found the pillows to be very uncomfortable and for some reason they kept sliding off one another. I find the after you book surprise £15 per night to park there really off putting.
Highly recommend
Liked: The room was lovely with a massive extra special bathroom. Had very relaxing 3 days, exactly what we needed. Location is fantastic, close to everything but at the same time very quiet. Staff is super friendly.
Disliked: Just a suggestion - adding a compact table with a stool in the window alcove instead of the chest of drawers, this will create a sitting for the 2nd person and a working space in case one needs to work.
Good to know
The Orchid Hotel is a popular wedding and party venue, this might cause the music to be audible in some of the bedrooms until midnight.
