  A gorgeous boutique hotel in the perfect location, with beautiful decor, spotless rooms, sea views and a peaceful atmosp

  Liked: We had a wonderful one-night stay at The Square Townhouse in Brighton. It’s a beautifully decorated boutique hotel with a quirky feel, and you feel instantly welcome and relaxed as soon as you walk through the door. Even the gorgeous scent makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a spa! The location is perfect, right across the road from the seafront and just a short walk from the main pier, but despite being so central, it’s lovely and peaceful too. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean, from our room to all the communal areas. Freddie greeted us on arrival, checked us in and showed us to our room, complete with a complimentary glass of fizz. She couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable and, every time we saw her, she stopped for a friendly chat. She’s a real credit to the hotel and made us feel so welcome. Most importantly, the service was warm, personal and genuinely lovely. We stayed in Room 3, which was beautifully decorated, really comfortable and had lovely sea views. Before heading out for dinner, Freddie even made us one of her famous espresso martinis, which certainly didn’t disappoint! Breakfast the following morning was fabulous, with so much choice it was hard to decide. I had the crab and avocado on potato rosti, while my husband opted for the full English. Both were delicious and the quality was excellent. The hotel also offers beauty spa treatments, which we didn’t get around to trying during our one-night stay. If we’d been there a little longer, we’d definitely have booked ourselves in for a pampering session! We thought it was great value for money, especially considering the location, lovely surroundings and level of service. It’s those little touches and the people who make you feel welcome that really make a difference. We’d highly recommend The Square Townhouse to anyone visiting Brighton and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. A real gem!

  An extremely expensive hotel for what it is and therefore not value for money. Not really boutique!

  Liked: Staff were nice and friendly. Aerated water on tap at reception. Fridge in room. Large bath and separate walk-in shower. Breakfast was good, but be prepared to wait.

  Disliked: Steep stairs to access room. Narrow entrance lobby to room. Bedroom floor on a slope, so therefore the bed was too! Absolutely roasing and with an insufficient fan to move air. Stain on carpet. Bathroom was all tiled, slippy and with sharp edges.

  wonderful place to see Brighton and in some luxury

  Liked: Breakfast was AMAZING...so creative. We had the full English and all the other specialities of the chef!
