Pleasant
Liked: Very comfortable bed and excellent location
Clifton-based convenience and comfort
Liked: Didn't try any food here, nor did my friend or I meet any of its staff. But it was a charming old property, retaining its exterior if not interior features due to conversion. Rooms were a decent enough size, with the usual facilities. We agreed the beds were very comfortable indeed! The separate bathrooms were found in a reasonable state despite frequent multiple uses, and there were several to choose from if one or two were occupied. The location was ideal for our needs and as we'd travelled by train, car parking wasn't an issue (it usually is in that area!). It actually took me back to my student days, when we stayed at houses of a similar ilk although not in as good condition!
Disliked: Obviously the rooms lacked en-suite bathrooms, which one can be rather used to, but then we knew that when we booked, and it accounted for the competitive pricing (anything in Clifton under £100 a night for a single room/double bed is good nowadays). A further £4 apiece was chargeable for a later check-out (it was rather mean at only 10am, but I suspect that's deliberate as a means of bumping up the price a little - for early risers this won't be an issue and it's entirely optional). The only real negative was the slightly long-winded and multi-step booking process insisted upon by the proprietors - my advice is to read your messages from them after placing a booking carefully, as there'll be further instructions to follow in order to secure it, unlike most accommodation which basically tells you about itself and says see you on the day of arrival. Having to enter various details of both guests was one thing, but having to supply photo identification seemed a bit much (especially as nobody ever asked to see it while there!).
Liked: The location is perfect
Disliked: Isolation: it was cold and humid, especially in the rooms downstair. There was not even a drop of coffee for the first days, no tea bag, no soap in the room...
Disliked: The room was tiny, I couldn’t get to the sink, toilet was up a floor, shower was very poor. No soap in the room
Liked: Pretty clean and confi bed. Great location. Great to have a sink in the bedroom.
Not good
Disliked: Dirty, no electric, noisy, property spam my email with 37 emails. Not recommending!
