Nice hotel in a nice historic area but freezing cold room!

    Liked: Locations is great

Disliked: Our room was freezing cold. After checking in I went back to reception and they said the heating was on a timer and would come on soon. Surely the room should be cosy in time for guests arriving! After our evening out we came back and the room was freezing again, with no heating on at all. Also the bathroom although it looked smart and like it had received a recent refit was very small compared to the large executive room we had paid for. Not a single radiator or even a heated towel rail in the bathroom. It was so cold in the morning we couldn’t even get showered! I get that gas and electricity prices are terrible now in this country but is that not why we’re now paying £250 a night rather than the £150 it was in hotels a few years ago! Breakfast was ok but very slow service considering it wasn’t busy. Nice hotel in a nice old historic area but the heating situation really spout it.

Excellent location, friendly staff, great value for money, clean rooms

Liked: The location is amazing! Really close to Arndale Mall, as well as where we parked (Q-park Deansgate North). I liked that our rooms had en suite bathrooms. Also we were given a free upgrade for an executive double room (completely unexpected). Checking in was quick and painless, as was checking out. The rooms were clean, and odor-free. Really great value for the price.

Disliked: Getting to our rooms involved a bit of stair climbing (both up and down), and the executive double room was located right above a bar. I can't really complain because it was a free upgrade, and earplugs were thoughtfully provided.
