Exceptional
Liked: Finally... a guest house that has a genuine (and very tastefully furnished) guests' lounge for relaxation and with a selection of available drinks (including complimentary sherry and chocolate cake - what's not to like?!) and games. Equally good is the breakfast ranging from Belgian Waffles, through various varieties of Eggs Benedict/Royale/omelette/+salmon etc. to the "Full Scottish". These are all cooked (superbly) to order (which guests make the evening before) so they are cooked fresh when you arrive for breakfast. My job has taken me all over the world so I've experienced a lot of hotel breakfasts - this is up there in the top 5. I think Helen and Mark have only been running a guest house since 2024 but they've done a fantastic job here. We will be back.

Liked: My partner and I stayed at Carra Beag Guest House in Pitlochry for four nights at the beginning of September, and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Mark and Helen are exceptional hosts who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Mark was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, taking the time to recommend places to eat in Pitlochry. One of his recommendations was The Auld Smiddy Inn, and it quickly became our favourite spot. We enjoyed food and drinks there every evening except one and can highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The breakfasts each morning were outstanding. Helen's cooking was absolutely superb, with a fantastic selection and everything freshly prepared and beautifully presented. It was the perfect way to start each day!! Carra Beag is a lovely guest house in a great location, offering comfortable accommodation, excellent hospitality, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. We would highly recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Pitlochry and will definitely be returning ourselves in the future. Thank you, Mark and Helen, for making our stay so enjoyable. Liked: Great location. Hosts were very welcoming. Lovely room. Excellent breakfast. Nice extra touches like the yummy chocolate cake in the lounge and bottled water in the room.
