Guest reviews
Very good
A Hotel to Experience Once
Liked: Our room was nicely appointed with a good bathroom. The beds were comfortable and we had water placed in the fridge daily. The walk in shower was excellent. The room was small though and rather cramped. The hotel as a whole is huge and there are plenty of lounging areas to just sit and read. The spa and swim facilities are very good and the grounds lovely to walk round (but hilly).
Disliked: The hotel may be 4* but that's because of the facilities. The food in the restaurant is OK with an emphasis on game but overpriced. Its better value in the bar which has a limited menu. Breakfast is buffet self service which should allow a quick turnover of guests but we had to queue for breakfast most mornings, on one occasion for 30 mins. Reason - shortage of staff to clear tables and replenish food. Some of the staff (not the majority) were rather off hand.
Liked: Beautiful building, great breakfast
Disliked: Spa a bit run down
Beautiful views but felt stay could have been a lot better
Liked: Amazing views and friendly staff. Venue is incredible. Great to have use of the pool and jacuzzi.
Disliked: Bedroom was incredibly hot. Fire alarm went off 3 times in a 3 night stay - all early in the morning. Combination meant sleep was very difficult/interrupted - housekeeping knocked at 8:15am also - earliest I’ve had in a hotel.
Liked: Excellent staff..very comfortable country hotel
A comfortable stay regardless. The breakfast was not very good at all, very disappointing all round
Liked: The location and the grounds
Disliked: It was rather dated and tired inside and could be cleaner as cobwebs and dead wasps and bluebottles behind the curtains in the shower room in our room
Liked: The food, staff and spa facilities
Disliked: Nothing
