Fabulous property and views
Liked: It was fabulous, beautifully presented and the views over Whitby from all 3 windows in the lounge were spectacular. Also Ali at Cyanacottages was wonderful. So helpful.
Disliked: Nothing.
A very relaxing, comfortable stay with the bonus of amazing views and a hot tub
Liked: The cottage was spacious, comfortable and well maintained
Disliked: There was nothing we would want improved
Whitby was fab but the accommodation was disappointing
Liked: It was quiet and the living accommodation was spacious. The views were great.
Disliked: We booked a 3 bedroom place for price quoted. On listing names of 4 people staying were told we would have to pay extra. 2 of us decided to stay elsewhere as was cheaper than paying the extra fee to stay with us. As there were now 2 of us we were told we could only use 1 bedroom with 1 en-suite. My husband & I are bad sleepers - we have separate bedrooms at home and specifically booked a place with enough rooms to accommodate this. It may have been ok if we'd been given the choice of the twin room but we were allocated a double. The twin room had a "No entry" sign on its door & the other room was locked. I slept on the sofa each night - the French doors leading to the Juliet balcony had no curtains/blind so my sleep was disturbed by light from outside. The lack of curtains/blinds also caused an issue when watching TV 1 afternoon - light reflecting on the screen, made it difficult to see. Our en-suite was ok. Shower was excellent. No storage. Traipsing backwards & forwards to fetch 1 cosmetic, cream, etc, at a time was annoying. Not a major issue but, for premium price & description/reviews from others, I was surprised storage was overlooked. There weren't enough clothes hangers in wardrobe, even when I fetched more from another bedroom wardrobe & used the hangers I had brought with me. Wardrobe itself was small &, as it was used for storage (by the cleaner?), was only a tiny amount of long hanging space. A small issue but, again, for premium price & the description, surprising. Kitchen cutlery drainer was dirty. Some paintwork needs re-doing. I don't remember being advised of amount of steep steps going to/from town/house on the booking website but may have missed this. All in all quite a good place but not nearly as good as were led to believe/expected, especially given the premium price.
A really lovely place we will definitely come back 😍
