    Idyllic stay in the Lakes

Liked: We loved our stay. The house is beautiful and very clean. We stayed in October and the whole building was kept nice and warm. Our room (deluxe double) was spacious and homely, with a nice garden view, and complete tea and coffee making facilities plus a mini fridge (with a lovely addition of home baked treats from Abigail)! The bed was comfortable and king size, and it was quiet and peaceful at night. The bathroom was a good size and the water in the bath and shower was piping hot. Some toiletries included in the bathroom but bring your own shampoo etc. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, there were so many options along with freshly made yoghurt and granola pots and orange juice. We appreciated the cakes and baked treats from Abigail that we could either eat then or take on our walks. The location was perfect, right in between Bowness and Windermere but tucked away off the main road and nice and quiet. It's about a 15 minute walk from Windermere train station and about 15 minute walk into Bowness. If you don't feel like walking you can catch the 599 bus easily from the stop nearby. Abigail and Andrew were very friendly and welcoming. We would recommend and can't wait to stay again!

Disliked: We liked everything! We would normally like breakfast a little later on, but having it earlier (between 8:30-9:30) worked well for our walking trips. You can also have a breakfast tray sent up to your room slightly later on if you don't feel like getting up too early!

    A comfortable and welcoming home

Liked: Andrew and Abigail are fantastic hosts, their house is beautiful and well kept. We stayed in a spacious, naturally-lit attic room, with exposed beams and very comfortable furniture. We felt welcomed and looked after from the moment we arrived, and the food provided was exceptional; fresh home baking, locally sourced ingredients and a diverse menu. Would recommend Ivythwaite Lodge to any traveller to the Lakes.

It was perfect. We we enjoyed every moment

Liked: The breakfast was really nice, freshly made and a nice menu of choices to choose. Homemade granola and freshly baked muffins. It was very clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again the owners were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

Disliked: There isn't nothing we didn't like it was a perfect stay and a beautiful lodge. My only fault was we should of stayed longer.
