  Good and comfy but slightly dampened by the house being slightly too cold, no heating facilities, the check out experien

  Liked: The place was quite good and location really good too with convenient parking. Most things were as described and very clean. Host was kind enough to let us check in 2 hours early when we arrived. Thank you

  Disliked: 1. The description says there’s a fireplace but we were told it’s not functional on arrival 2. We were quite cold in the evening so I messaged the host asking if the heating could be turned on, she replied the next morning saying she didn’t see the message and it’s always better to knock on her door instead (she lives next door) and she asked if we still need it on. I said we were out but would let her know in the evening if we’d like it turned on. In the evening, we got back and the place was cold so I politely asked her to turn on the heating for just a few hours, she declined. She said it’s still summer months and it’s really warm so I will not turn on the heating (it had gone down to 9° and this was September, not summer months) even though she told me that I should knock on her door and ask her if we needed it. 3. Upon check out, she came to inspect the house and was very adamant that we had left the kitchen “really filthy” and that she would never leave a place in this condition. I’ve stayed in multiple guest accommodations and know the standard of cleanliness that is expected from guests - we had gone above & beyond to wipe counter tops, wash dishes, and not leave any mess. She complained about the floor being slightly dirty and said she expected us to have wiped the floor clean. The floor wasn’t even dirty and when I told her that this is just normal use as we were there for 3 days, she said “I would have wiped it everytime I saw dirt”. She was too worried about having to pay a cleaning charge but is that not standard after a guest checks out?

  Great host, great location

  Oakdene apartment in the heart of windermere

  Liked: Home from home,wonderful location just off windermere high street, apartment equipped with evrything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay, 2 lovely good sized double bedrooms& 1 with ensuite, very cosy place to be, irene the lovely lady tht owns it so very friendly and accommodatin a very nice lady, none of us wanted to leave including my 2 grandsons who were sad to leave, you don't even have to use your car once uve parked up as buses run at the end of the road about a 4 minute walk from the apartment&the train station about a 7minute walk to the top of the road, would happily stay there again&recommend it to family&friends too thank you irene marvellous stay

  Nice, calm & clean

  Liked: We really enjoyed our stay and liked everything about the apartment. It was clean, comfortable, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. The location was also great, and we would happily stay here again.

  Disliked: The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which was not very good. The connection was quite slow.

Good to know

Check-in is strictly between 16:00 and 20:00. Guests are kindly requested to inform the property of their estimated arrival time when booking. This can be noted in the comments box or by contacting the property using the contact details found on the booking confirmation. Late check in time can be accommodated on request.

Please note that this is a self-catering apartment. Guests are expected to leave the accommodations in a clean and tidy condition. Cleaning materials are supplied.

2 parking spaces can be provided per apartment, but please note that only 1 is guaranteed and the 2nd is upon request and subject to availability.

Please note, the property will not permit extra guests to be accommodated if it exceed the maximum occupancy already stated for each apartment.

Neither American Express nor Diners Club cards are accepted for on-site payment.

Please note that the maximum occupancy for this apartment (including children and babies) are 5 guests.

In the unlikely event that the booked apartment cannot be supplied, the hotel will supply another apartment with the same facilities.

Over Christmas and New Year period guests can enjoy a Christmas tree in all apartments.

No late night parties (that go on after midnight, that will disturb other guests) are permitted. Anyone found doing this will be asked to leave.

Our Wi-Fi is a Mesh system and should supply you with excellent Wi-Fi.

There is a newly re-furbished play park for small and older children just a few minutes' walk away, with facilities for small children and a bike track and skateboard park for older children.

We don't have the infrastructure or facilaties to charge any electric vehicals. There is however charging points in Broad street car park just around the corner.

We have no facilaties for storing bikes indoors, It is just a couple of minutes walk to shops, cafes and restaurantsPlease inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.
