  Our stay at The Herrings Residence will remain in our memories as one of our best stays anywhere!

  Liked: The location was great couldn’t have asked for anything better. Maryke was just wonderful. From the picnic basket full of pastries, breads, yogurt, fresh squeezed orange juice to the smoothies delivered to us every morning, to her giving us recommendations for restaurants or just helpful hints about the town, we just could not find any fault with her. The cottage is lovely, the fridge was stocked with food and fresh homemade cake to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were spotless, bed very comfortable, the decor lovely and felt very homey. She has not overlooked any detail to make this cottage a home away from home. We had asked Maryke to arrange a taxi to take us to the train station as it was supposed to rain. She did that for us and met us in the morning and waited with us to make sure the taxi arrived on time. I cannot say enough about how much my husband and I enjoyed our stay there and would highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you Maryke for making our trip to Bruges so special!

  Beautiful destination for a relaxing weekend in Bruges

  Liked: This is an elegant small house with total privacy. It’s like being at home away from home. The breakfast is delicious, it’s very cosy. If you need some rest and relaxation, this is a perfect space.

  We highly recommend this truly stunning property in a great location

  Liked: Maryke and her husband Philippe are exceptional hosts who have thought of everything. Arriving to a beautiful cottage with homemade cake, a stocked fridge with water, cheeses, prosciutto, bacon, butter, jams and eggs was a lovely surprise. The daily breakfast delivery of pastries, juices, smoothies etc were a true delight, as was the never ending supply of coffee pods. Maryke was extremely helpful with any questions and asking if there was anything else we needed. Possibly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. Thank you Brooke and Hamish

  absolutely perfect! we really loved our stay here

  Liked: Its like being resident of Bruges for a weekend if you stay here. Breakfast is freshly served in a basket every morning and by fresh I mean truly fresh. Superb quality breakfast! Variation was very welcome too, every morning there was different, but equally great foodtypes like croissaints and buns. The bedroom is airconditioned, wich is a huge bonus. I really felt at home here in the city because of this little house. The location is perfect: right in the city centre, just a few minutes walk to the shopping streets and cafés. Its a cute little house that felt very cozy. It also has a small outside patio with seating for 2. Its perfect for couples, very romantic. The hostess is extremely friendly, privacy minded and personal, we got a handwritten card thanking us for our stay, just as an example.

  Disliked: The couch is a little small for 2, considering its romantic nature, a bigger, soft, cozy couch would suit it a little better. As opposed to the small couch and 2 chairs it has now.
