Fabulous
good
Liked: good
Disliked: good
Liked: location, free parking, staff
Disliked: please work on the bathrooms - no privacy at all and very small and uncomfortable
Liked: I liked the location and the staff were polite and helpful.
Disliked: There was no soap or shampoo to wash or shower with.
Can be much better
Liked: It was a good location, fairly clean. The receptionist ladies are amazing. They have big lockers. The hostel is safe.
Disliked: I entered the room at 5pm the room was dark so I put the light on there was no one sleeping only one guy that he was fully dressed & sitting at the couch. He was very aggressive & put the light off. I complaint to the guy in the reception he said it is your right to open the light. I told him if I do the guy gonna became hostile. I prefer if you talk to him but he refused instead after getting settled he asked me to change the room. The receptionist the guy should not put me in confrontation with the guest. As long he is violating the law he is the one that he should be moved & not me. Moreover the room is in the 3rd floors & there are lots of stairs.
Liked: Ok
Disliked: Hello, he wanted to pay a fee to leave his backpack somewhere for 3 hours and then come back for it. It was quite strange—all the shrines are free of charge.
Liked: The location was great! And the staff tried their best to help.
Disliked: Unfortunately although the staff was nice and tried their best, there were strange older men in the hostel that made us feel uncomfortable. Not just me, I was talking to some other guests as well. It came so far that one girl went to the staff before her last night at the hostel to ask if she can swap rooms. The hostel was fully booked but the lady at the reception offered her to make a bed in the chill/-computer room in the basement. That’s where the girl actually stayed for that night before she had to leave early the next day. The older man in her room kept staring at her, not talking, just staring. He smelled really bad. My first impression when I got up to the rooms was another old man lying on a couch with a bottle of beer and clearly in a booze. I keep thinking about how the receptionist asked the girl, what did exactly happen because nothing really happened. He just stinks and stares. - I hope she was just overwhelmed and didn’t have better words, because NOTHING SHOULD NEED TO HAPPEN until you ask for help. Also she said well, that’s a risk you’ve to take when booking a mixed dorm. Because I think it is not. You should feel comfortable. And a hostel offering mixed dorms still need to take care of their guests. Also, often women*-only-dorms are more expensive. So it’s a necessity sometimes but they make you pay for it… This hostel doesn’t have only-women*-dorms anyway. Thanks to the staff who made it also possible for me to switch rooms but I still don’t recommend the hostel for solo travellers.
