Exceptional
Cozy quiet apartment easily walkable to city centre
Liked: Super easy arrival and self check-in. Instruction for key pick up super easy to follow. Great quiet location 15mins walk to city. Clean and modern apartment with nice amenities.
Disliked: Nothing
Liked: A very clean, newly renovated studio. Thoughtful details make for a comfortable stay. The city center is within walking distance, and there is a large Rewe supermarket just 100 meters away. The residential area is quiet and peaceful, despite the proximity of restaurants. The host is reachable by phone—a rarity these days. Surprisingly, there are even live plants in the room that are well-cared for.
Decent stay, but did smell of second hand smoke
Liked: The apartment is in a normal middle class residential building 20 minutes walk from the center Old Town. There is a nice Rewe (supermarket) across the street and plenty of parking. The area is quiet and has a couple nice breweries and bakeries around the corner. The apartment is a good size and comfortably furnished and the kitchenette is well stocked. Good bathroom. It has everything you need to have a nice time in Bamberg if you are up for some walking, which we were.
Disliked: The apartment smelled strongly of second hand cigarette smoke and this bothered my kids. The apartment seems to have been recently bought and partly renovated for rent. Either the prior owner smoked for years in the place and the smell is stuck in the walls or there were guests before us who smoked in the room. I am guessing the first to be true.
