Worth every penny!
Liked: The view, the people, the atmosphere. It was great!
Disliked: I have no complaints.
Beautiful place to stay
Liked: The property was in a beautiful place, near the lake and mountains, there were many private places to sit outside in nature. The stuff was very friendly, although we didn’t inform on time for being late the man who worked there waiting for us till late which we are very grateful. There was nearby a cafe with amazingly delicious cakes and pies.
Disliked: The breakfast was too expensive and we were there in hot days so without AC we barely could sleep.
Don't stay in warm weather
Disliked: I understand old buildings don't have air-conditioning but I don't understand why guests can not be provided with a fan during hot weather. Top floor room with small window. Couldn't sleep due to heat first 2 nights. Also our pillows were like rags stuffed in a sack.
A beautiful hotel close to Forggensee. Highly recommend!
Liked: A wonderful hotel close to Forggensee. The room was spacious, and the bathroom as well, and all the facilities needed for a comfortable stay were there. I also really enjoyed the restaurant. I ordered the Allgäu burger with fries, and it was fantastic! The menu was quite extensive too. Breakfast was standard. If I get the chance, I'll definitely visit this hotel again!
Disliked: The pillows should be replaced, as I found them a bit too soft. I slept well, but some guests might find them uncomfortable. Also, in my opinion, the restaurant's operating days could be extended.
Enjoyable stay in a rural setting near the castles
Liked: This older hotel has a lot of character and a modern interior. It was a pleasant surprise, with its large, comfortable room and excellent restaurant. Close to the Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein Castles, we also enjoyed walking on the path at Lake Forggensee reservoir just down the road. We had a very nice stay here and an exceptional meal in their restaurant.
Disliked: We enjoyed our balcony, even though it was shared, and we loved the rural setting. Some might not enjoy the constant sounds of cowbells we heard in the late springtime or the occasional whiff of manure from the farm and the riding stables next door.
