  Liked: Location was great.

  Disliked: Filthy shower-head and kettle was not clean, on a noisy road, host unresponsive. Room looked a bit tatty.

  Take care of the 6 issues above and I'd happily to return — compensation welcome for this advice!

  Liked: Excellent location: close to trams, food (restaurants and grocers) and cultural facilities. Very nice interior renovation of an architecturally interesting, historic building.

  Disliked: 1) Nobody was present at check-in: my phone wasn't working and with no other option, it was lucky that a passer-by was willing to make a call to the "landlady" — the entry instructions should have been sent by email in advance of my arrival — the failure to do that shows tremendous disrespect for guests who may have traveled a great distance, are carrying luggage, etc. 2) The kitchen facilities were sufficient: not quite as nice as advertised, but serviceable; unfortunately, one of the drinking glasses tipped over in the sink and cracked while washing up on the last day I was there, and although I found a (smaller) replacement glass at nearby shop, perhaps more durable items should be provided. 3) The shower is too small, and so it seems the shower door was replaced with a flimsy curtain which is hard to keep in place and to clean; there's also a "conflict" between the entry door and the shower-room/WC door. 4) The refinished wood floor may be very nice to look at, but several nail-heads were not flush with the floor: one was elevated about 3mm above the floor surface near the kitchen/table area and was a hazard (it could potentially cut a bare foot or tear a sock), so I marked it with a bit of tissue paper so the management can care for this (and perhaps check for other nail-head hazards. 6) I've never smoked in my life, and didn't want to start on this visit, but at least one of the guests was smoking in the inner courtyard — and after I asked them to stop, perhaps also in their room? — DAS IST VERBOTEN and perhaps the lack of any on-site staff contributes to this problem.

  Good for a short stay and central

  Liked: Lose to main train and transport hub.

  Disliked: A bit claustrophobic. The room is situated under rather the staircase and next to the cleaners closet so fairly noisy in the mornings.

  Central location, comfy apartment, good communication and value

  Liked: This is a great location for getting out and getting around. I knew that from staying in a rental apartment a few doors down on a previous visit to Potsdam. This apartment was well-appointed. Someone was very thoughtful about furnishings and places to hang clothes, towels, etc. The kitchen had everything I needed, though I did not really cook, No need to - nice restaurants and take-out, and places to stroll, are near. The bed was comfortable. Communication went well too. I arrived on an exceptionally hot day and when my questions about the thermostat could not be answered by text, a kind young woman came over. Alas, I had a language barrier. Turns out, any cooling system was imaginary, but the smart old "double" windows and blackout drapes kept this ground-floor apartment in an historic building fairly cool. [By contrast, that previous apartment would have been an oven.] Overall, a good value and I had anticipated what some of the drawbacks might be.

  Disliked: As others have written, you hear the rumbling trolley through much of the night and it's like thunder. With closed windows it did not stop my sleep. The ground floor location (Apartment #1) means if you want windows open at night (and the drapes too, for air), passersby can potentially look in - or maybe climb in if you are asleep. So - air out/cool down before that. The street has little traffic after business hours and closed businesses across the street. Alas, in nice weather the building stoop is a popular hangout into the night, including for drinking, shrieking laughter, and smoking.

  Liked: All commodities in this room. The restoration of the building is simply lovely. We would like to visit Postdam again and I would love to stay here again.
