Exceptional
Liked: Everything you need for an apartment stay. All utensils, washing machine, cooker etc. Fridge had bottles of water and carton of juice upon arrival which is great if you've had a long journey. Host was great and very helpful
Liked: Perfect location, everything was in walking distance. The room was super clean and comfortable and the owner really helpful. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to explore the city without needing a car.
Good value for money
Liked: Close to the old city, apartment clean and spacious. Quite place.
Disliked: Parking was not first and second day available to the property, it could be a little bit difficult but we found close, in the street(no payment).
A Gem of a Studio Right in the Centre of Town
Liked: We stayed for one night in this little gem of a studio apartment right in the centre of town and just two minutes walk from a small beach. The single room property is well laid out with a comfortable double bed, a desk, a sofa and a large flat screen TV with local channels and Netflix. The kitchen area has a combination stove top and oven, perfect for cooking light meals, and all the utensils, cutlery, pots and pans you would need, and a breakfast bar with two stools and a coffee maker. There’s also a washing machine which was just what we needed after a week in Crete! The bathroom is quite small but functional, and the shower is excellent. The studio was spotlessly clean for our arrival, and Maria had left a couple of bottles of water in the fridge which was a nice gesture. The tap water is safe to drink, we’ve been using it for our tea and coffee all over Crete. The property has a wraparound balcony facing south and west so gets the sun pretty much all day, it was lovely having our dinner on the balcony watching the sun set over the city. And to top it all there is a private off-street parking bay right below, although you have to request this when you book. We were only in Chania for one night, however we wish we had stayed for two, there’s so much to see and explore. It’s a 10 minute stroll from the property to the old town, you can either walk along the main road then turn right, or walk north to the beach and turn left and follow the coast straight to the Old Venetian Port. Marias Studio is a great apartment for a short stay in the beautiful city of Chania, we would strongly recommend it!
Disliked: Nothing really, everything was perfect. If I had one suggestion it would be to change the balcony door next to the kitchen so it opens towards the breakfast bar rather than the sink (or even better, opens out the way). I like keeping the door open when cooking but I had to keep closing it to access the sink and worktop, if it opened the other way this wouldn’t be a problem!
Perfect location and friendly host
Liked: Very comfy bed and everything we needed for our stay. Quiet area but close to the sea and within walking distance of the old town. It felt very safe as all the doors locked. The air con was great. There were mini markets and a bakery nearby. Maria was very welcoming and friendly every time we saw her and left us treats which was lovely.
Disliked: The balcony overlooked buildings so no view. There was no make up or full length mirror in the bedroom. It was a bit small for a two week stay but perfect for shorter stays. It was up two flights of stairs but not too bad. There was no safe in the room.

Liked: Great location - only a 20 minute walk to Old Town.
Disliked: Property details prior to booking says on-site parking available, however once booked it said that parking is request only and it was currently unavailable. Think this was more of an issue with booking.com than host. Everything else was great.
