  Dissapointed

  Disliked: Unfortunately, this was by far the most disappointing accommodation of our trip to Crete. The room looked nothing like the one advertised online. The bathroom in particular seemed to belong to a completely different hotel — perhaps one we were supposed to be staying at. The room itself had a rather unusual atmosphere. While lying in bed, you were greeted by a light bulb hanging from a roughly one-metre-long rope directly above you. It honestly looked less like a hotel room and more like a scene from a horror movie. We asked the owner if we could change rooms because the room clearly didn't match what had been advertised. We were told that there were no other rooms available. When we said that, if the room couldn't be changed, we would simply like our money back, the owner suddenly became very concerned — not about the room, but about the 20% Booking.com commission. We were told that we should pay the commission ourselves because, apparently, he wouldn't be able to sell the room again. He then contacted Booking.com, and suddenly, almost miraculously, another room became available. And, even more miraculously, this new room looked exactly like the one advertised online. So apparently, the room we were looking for did exist after all. We eventually received our money back after couple of days, and interestingly enough, the owner's attitude became noticeably friendlier afterward his call with Booking.com. He even said he didn't have all of those pictures online. Unfortunately, by that point, we were already very happy to be leaving. The breakfast was disappointing as well, and we didn't particularly enjoy the town. The sea in the area also didn't seem nearly as clean as in many other parts of Crete. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our stay and incredibly relieved once we left and continued travelling around Crete. There are so many beautiful places on the island — unfortunately, this wasn't one of them.

  Surprisingly awful considering the pictures and review’s

  Liked: The people that run Nikos Lux were lovely and welcoming considering we were staying at Nikos Apartments which is separate by not advertised

  Disliked: Nikos apartments is 2 separate apartments. Nikos Apartments and Nikos Lux which both rooms are advertised under Nikos apartments but are completely different. Lux being the refurbished rooms shown in the pictures. Our room was awful, pipes sticking out of the floor, leaking aircon unit which you get charged extra for, tiny shower room with broken drain, water floods the whole floor. Poor heat and power of the water. Generally tatty all round. Pool had algae around the inside of the pool and algae on the plastic pool vents again not as advertised. Although the manager offered another room it was still very similar to the first and the pool area was still the same. We decided to check out and checked in to a new hotel which was lovely

  Warm family friendly apartments, made to feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Will definitely return.x

  Liked: Very friendly, lovely vibe, good amount of sun beds plenty of availability throughout the day, pool was lovely, food was lovely, plenty of space, lovely Apartments
