Charming and historic stay in Cork City

Liked: The apartment is located in the historic Elizabeth Fort, which in itself was a really cool experience, and it has so much historic charm. The location is unbeatable and easy to get to. Geraldine was wonderful in communicating all of the logistics and details of our arrival. Overall it was an excellent stay.

Disliked: There wasn’t really anything negative to be found.

Great experience. Loved it. And a pint of Murphy’s at the Old Bear out front of the fort is tops 🍀

Liked: Wonderful. Staying in s fort. Lovely 2 bedroom 1920s house to ourselves. Green door. Comfortable beds and attention to details.

Period house that is in a fort!

Liked: You are staying in a fort people! Lovely comfortable house with lots of period features. A modern bathroom, lots of power points and plenty of space in the kitchen were great. Central location so you can walk to restaurants, pubs and to the centre.

Disliked: Just be aware the fort is open to the public during the day. Can’t drive in, so there is a bit of a walk with bags and offsite parking wasn’t cheap. Stairs to the front door and bedroom could be a problem if you have mobility issues.

A quaint, quirky, but homely cottage within the walls of an Elizabethan fortress. Brilliant!

Liked: A wonderful character cottage inside a fortress within the city of Cork, what's not to like. And if you're of that inclination you can stroll the fortress walls, look out over the city, oh yeah, there's a pub, The Bear, just outside the walls of the fortress. How handy is that?:)

Disliked: The Barracks Cottage was brilliant. It just so happened that our stay coincided with a heatwave and a fan would have been lovely. I mentioned this to the delightful House Manager Geraldine who said she'd look into getting some for the house. Lovely lady:)
