    Worst stay ever! BEWARE

Disliked: ⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Horrendous Experience! Stay Away from Fort William Farm! UPDATE: Two days after we initially complained to the owner about the complete lack of heat, he finally admitted that someone had turned the heating off and that he had neglected to check it before our arrival. This means that the freezing conditions we endured, the health concerns that forced us to leave early, and the complete disruption of our stay could have been prevented with something as simple as checking that the heat was working. Rather than immediately acknowledging his oversight, apologizing, and taking responsibility, the owner initially responded with excuses, hostility, and dismissive emails. It took TWO DAYS for him to finally admit fault. That admission made an already horrendous experience even more unacceptable. I rarely leave reviews this negative, but our experience at Fort William Farm was so appalling that I feel obligated to warn other travelers. What should have been a wonderful stay in Scotland turned into an absolute nightmare due to unacceptable accommodations, a complete lack of hospitality, and an owner who seemed more concerned about being inconvenienced than the safety and comfort of his paying guests. The biggest issue was the COMPLETE LACK OF HEAT. The temperature in our room dropped into the 30s Fahrenheit, making the accommodations unbearably cold and ultimately forcing us to leave early due to health concerns. No guest should ever have to choose between staying in accommodations they paid for and protecting their health. When we brought the heating issue to the owner’s attention, his primary concern seemed to be that we had disturbed him at 11 PM! Rather than showing compassion, apologizing, or making a genuine effort to resolve the situation, he was dismissive and unpleasant.

Quiet, rustic, farm retreat. We enjoyed the property & host

Liked: Great host, super cool location, felt like a little retreat on a farm in Ireland. Fun, quirky property to explore. Quiet, laid-back, welcoming.

Disliked: I wasn't familiar with how the shower worked, but Roy was helpful in telling me exactly how to turn it on.
