Fabulous
Quiet and relaxing with friendly and helpful staff
Liked: We were very happy with our stay at Hotel La Fontana. The room, staff, facilities and breakfast were all excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
Disliked: No complaints. Perfect for our stay. Ideal.
Liked: Very nice view of the Lago Maggiore, with a glimpse of Isola Bella. The apartment was very large and comfortable.
Disliked: The lighting in the living room was OK, but a bit more light would make it better. The beds were a little bit soft for persons with back pain like us, but they were not that bad.
Nice stay in Stresa
Liked: Good sized room, nice view and easy walk to town. Free parking at the hotel was a bonus!
Disliked: I booked 2 rooms for 3 of us in the one booking but they did not allow us to sit together for breakfast, so my mum had to sit by herself on a separate table. No orange or Apple juice, only bitter orange or grapefruit.
Liked: the hotel location is perfect, not in the old town but in a walking distance to everywhere. The hotel garden was beautiful and very large.
Disliked: the breakfast was a bit poor, not too many selections..

Liked: Great location, beautiful little balcony and the pool area was really nice.
Nice stay in a nice area
Liked: Very helpful staff. Clean rooms and property. Adequate breakfast. Air conditioning in the room. Good location - near the lake and old town. Small outdoor swimming pool (we didn't use, but it looked nice). Great blackout louvers over the windows kept it dark when you wanted to sleep. Quiet area.
Disliked: The showers Italy are frequently problematic - some are too narrow or don't have a way to keep the water off of the bathroom floor. Our shower had a curtain that should have kept the water in, but there wasn't a ridge/lip on the floor around the shower area, and the floor was sloped slightly out of the shower area. So the water spread across the entire bathroom floor (to the toilet, under a floor rack, under the sink). I spent a while trying to dry the floor which showed me that the floor was already very clean.
