Exceptional
A fabulous location for a true Essaouira stay
Liked: Maison des Artistes is an unusual lodging -- in a 17th century building overlooking the ramparts. It's not for everyone, particularly if you have accessibility issues. Isabelle is a delightful, caring host who makes the ambiance a truly remarkable, welcoming place to stay.

Liked: Isabelle is a perfect host, with a great sense of humour and a gift for putting you at ease instantly. Wonderful views, great breakfasts, sunsets, brilliant location on the edge of medina. I wish I’d booked more nights…
Magic, incredibly nice!
Liked: A magical place overlooking the ocean. A special artistic place for gourmets of style, where to treat your eyes, body and soul. The host Izabella is incredibly kind and caring. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the ocean and enjoying the sunset in the evening.

A hidden gem in such a tourist town
Liked: Such a beautiful situation right in front of the sea. The guest house was right in the heart of the Medina. It was so special. One of the most memorable places we have ever stayed. The lovely suite opened onto the terrace overlooking the sea. Everything was perfect. Isabelle, our hostess, was utterly charming and looked after our every need including excellent advice regarding the town, guides, and where to eat. We certainly recommend this special place!
Disliked: A few stairs to reach our room, but worth the effort.
Exceptional
Liked: Beautiful accommodation. The view at the roof terrace is otherworldly. Very clean - the place is thoroughly cleaned everyday - and the breakfast is very good. Isabelle has a sense of hospitality that is "hors catégorie". I am a solo traveler, and Isabelle and Abdelkader really took care of me; it felt like a sanctuary. Isabelle gives great recommendations on where to eat. One day Isabelle took me to the market to buy some fish, chose a restaurant for me where they grilled the fish and even showed me how to eat sardines the Moroccan way. Do visit the hammam, Isabelle makes reservations. My only regret is that I did it the last day of my stay, otherwise I would have definitely done it again.
